  1. I think it was "your" bat exactly the one I referred to. They both solved the "call Affinity Photo trough other sw" problem, I just liked the idea of the black window remaining in the windows bottom bar. Thanks both, by the way.
  2. With the "other" bat I don't have this behaviour, I just wanted to notify it to you. I know about the new installers, thanks anyway.
  3. I tried your bat. It works, but the "dos-like window" (sorry for my technical ignorance) doesn't close by itself.
  4. Truth be told, it's something I too learned on this forum yesterday 😀 Thanks anyway.
  5. I don't understand...why should anyone use this launcher instead of the .bat file? - I'm serious. I read this launcher will have to be updated after every serif update, while the .bat will work forever (or at least until serif doesn't change the exe in the appdata\local\microsoft\windowsapp folder) and doesn't need to mess with authorizations.
  6. Hi Ludger. If you type "*" and press enter when you are in the folder with the .bat file, you remove the filter that shows only .exe files. Then you can select the .bat file. It's the same with FastStone Image Viewer and DXO Photolab - and every other sw that works the same way.
  7. I don't like the choice to follow the app way too. I hope Serif will make soon an official patch to solve this, even if for now I can continue to work with RawTherapee and FastStone.
  8. kid? I would love to be still one 😂 please, your and my ages are irrilevant. crybaby.
  9. you're just a crybaby, interested in whining and not in solving the problem. Uninstall the sw and ask for a refund. that's easy enough?
  10. I already wrote this problem (the export from other softwares) should be addressed by Serif. Apart from it, ap2 works fine. you're making it just too tragical about this single problem and refuse to spend 3 seconds to create this .bat and solve it, while waiting for the official solution. and please, stop calling "hack" this procedure. you have to create a .txt file, copy 2 lines of text in it and renaming it to .bat.
  11. Serif surely has to fix these problem, but the .bat file is a very simple and effective solution. with the time it took you to write all your complaints you would have already solved the problem and be using ap2.
  12. type "*" where you have to tyype the name of the file, then press enter. Now you can see (and select) the .bat file. This works also with FastStone ImageViewer, which wants like DXO only .exe files
  13. update: the .bat workaround described in other threads works much better, and both with sw that wants the user to write just the path to ap's exe (like RawTherapee) and with sw that wants the user to navigate to the exe (like faststone and dxo photolab).
  14. By far the best way to export to Affinity Photo 2, and It works with all the programs I use (RawTherapee, FastStone Image Viewer). Thank you very much.
  15. I correct myself. Setting the path to Photo.exe in RawTherapee to export to Affinity Photo v.2 works: C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\SerifEuropeLtd.AffinityPhoto2_2.0.0.1640_x64__3cqzy0nppv2rt\App\Photo.exe Maybe I copied it wrong, before.
  16. Update, now it works. Where RawTherapee asks for the path of the external editor's executable I wrote: C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\SerifEuropeLtd.AffinityPhoto2_2.0.0.1640_x64__3cqzy0nppv2rt\App\Photo.exe ...which is what I thought I already did yesterday. I think I didn't copy correctly the entire path. Hope this helps.
  17. Same problem with RawTherapee. I know where the "new" exe is, I can create working shortcuts, but there's no way to export from RawTherapee to Affinity Photo v.2.
  18. First of all: sorry for my bad english, I'll try explain to my best. I just bought Affinity Photo V2. Everything's fine, exept the fact I don't understand if (and how) there's a way to set a path to the executable that's working: In RawTherapee's preferences, I can set the path to the exe of an external editor, to which RT "sends" a tiff with my pp settings applied to continue to work. Until today, that path was "C:\Program Files\Affinity\Photo\Photo.exe". I already discovered how to see what's in the WindowsApps folder, and I found the AP V2 exe. Problem is that I can't use that exe to launch AP v2 (got an error message) Now I'm really struggling to find out a workaround for this problem...and if I won't find out one, I will have to ask for a refund and continue to use AP V.1. Thanks to everyone who will try to help.
