  1. Back in the day when I traveled to an unfamiliar city and needed processing, I would pick three labs from the local Yellow Pages (yes I'm that old) and called with one opening question: "What is your turnaround time for E6 in 120". Most of the staffs at the other end of the line (especially in small towns) would draw a blank. The fist lab with the answer "one hour" would get my business. My mindset is still stuck in the file era where I have to change magazine every twelve frames, exposure and colour temperature have to be spot on. I'll shoot more with digital, just in case the subjects close their eyes, but that is the only reason. To me, every single shot counts. Oh by definition I'm not a professional photographer, I retired. But I still enjoy using Affinity Photo, and I do like to have a DAM since I've accumulated so many photos over the years.
  2. I just came across Peakto for macOS from cyme.io, looks interesting, anyone with experience cares to comment?
  3. I'm not sure those are real contender. I tried DigiKam for a while, the UI was clunky. Think about the Mac software that bundles with the X-rite 1Display Pro Colorimeter, may be not as bad but you get the point. The last time I checked (a few months ago) their development team still did not have a M1 Mac for development. I'll be glad to pay for a commercial (polished and properly supported) Apple silicon native DAM app.
  4. +1 for another WAAAITING (with wallet in hand) customer. I used to use Adobe Bridge with my previous Intel based Macs, but since I upgraded them to M1 based machines, I have to do without any DAM software as the Intel based Bridge does not play nice with Apple silicon. For whatever reasons Adobe still don't have a native version for the ARM based machines (1 1/2 year now), go figure.
