  1. Thank You. Sometimes it is a bit difficult to figure out how things work. :)
  2. Are you telling me that the v1.4 update download from the App Store last week incorporates the Beta changes as of that date? And, as I have not seen a new Beta in the last week or so, I am completely up to date until Beta 1.4.1-Beta 5 is released? If so, I am at peace. Tom
  3. Once again I am experiencing the "Must buy the retail version" prior to installing the latest Beta version. Last week the App Store sent me a message to upgrade Affinity to v1.4. I had already done this manually when it first came out and was able to add the Beta version without a problem. The App Store notice continued to appear so I just let it download and replace what I had. After that the Beta would not load. I have exhausted my efforts to cure this; I erased both programs, cleaned the Trash, did a full shutdown, reinstalled the App Store v1.4 and redownloaded the Beta. Still won't load or open. I enjoy using the Beta version and would appreciate a solution. Thanks. Tom Nequette
  4. Andy, I upgraded the base program on Apple App to 1.4. I enjoy working with the Beta developments and so after a few days went to download 1.4.1 and received the dialog message that I had to purchase the program to download the beta. Any advice? tom nequette
  5. Andy, Interesting you mentioned HDR. Right next to the Affinity listing on Apple App is Aurora. I feel sure you must have looked at it. It is so simply to use as a stand alone and you two would fit like butter and bread. We all know that HDR requires multiple shots of one subject at different exposure settings. Should use a tripod, etc. The right shot just happens, tripod or not. One of the reasons to shoot in RAW is the ability to change elemental settings such as exposure, +1,-2,-1,-2 and save as such. This takes a bit of trial and error in Affinity but it works. One shot at a time. Export one at a time. But what if, shoot in RAW, get your image, process in Develop to fix as best as possible, go on to Persona and finalize. Then go to Export and choose HRD which would change necessary exposure settings for HDR. Then export to your Aurora plug-in with three or five shots ready to process. No tripod needed! One good RAW shot altered as required to process in HDR! Just a dream.
  6. Jonas posted - Hi Tom, working only used by me in the NIK / Google filters. All other not function. Either Serif manages with some money to publish the plug functions that all filters run under Affinity Photo or they must create their own filters to the topics. Another way I do not see at the moment. I still use the OnOne Perfect Photo Suite and Alien Skin Exposure 7, which do not even work. Only Imagenomic Noiseware Portraiture and function. Let's see if something happens with the plug-ins ??? After that I believe our German friends started there own dialog. BTW, my interest lies in the fact that I spent $150US for these filters not too long ago and thought they were fun. That was when I also used Nikon CNX2. Then Google bought NIK and Nikon dropped CNX2. I tried Lightroom but was not happy and, being a 70 year old amateur who likes to shoot and play with the results, photoshop was too much and that does not even touch my dislike of the Adobe subscription change. Then Affinity just dropped into my lap and while I remain a newbie with it, it is easy for me to understand and grasp. The future looks good and I hope they grow and gain enough market penetration that hey will look at enabling plugins like NIK. My two cents and now I will continue my studies with Affinity. Thanks to all.
  7. Thank you for your replies. While my German is rusty I did understand we amy be able to incorporate some of them. Who would we contact to look at making the NIKs work with Affinity, Affinity or Google/NIK? Small steps, granted, but you have to start. Tom
