  1. Yes, it was as a separate layer, but in Affinity Photo, not Publisher! At least I know now. Thanks for your help.
  2. Everything is fine in layers, but I've worked out what it is! On each of the errant pages I have placed at least one linked .afphoto image that has an adjustment layer applied in Photo ie. I hadn't flattened the image. I have now done this, and the pages are reproducing as they should.
  3. Again, I am finding that, when I create a pdf from my Affinity Publisher document, some of the pages are being completely rasterised. This time it is four out of 24 pages. I can't understand why. It doesn't matter what my pdf settings are the same thing is happening. Does anyone have any ideas what may be causing this.
  4. Hi stokerg Thanks for that. The pdf you've sent has used substitute fonts and therefore is not a like for like compared to the pdf I sent. Also I'm not sure whether not having all the original image files would also play a part. But one thing does strike me: both on the body text font and caption font, I've applied. effects. On the body font (Novarese Book), the client wanted a slightly heavier weight so I applied an outline in the text style panel. On the cation font (Novarese Bold Italic), I've applied a drop shadow effect. Maybe this is why the font is rasterising, but doesn't explain why it is only happening on 3 of the 24 pages. I would appreciate it if you could look into this further for me.
  5. Hi stokerg I've uploaded the afpub file you requested. I've also included the original pdf I produced which, as you'll be able to see, has rasterised the text on pages 2, 4 and 8. I've also included a screenshot of the pdf settings I used to create the pdf. I'm not sure whether you'll need all the associated files as well though, which will add up to quite a large folder size. Let me know if you do, or if I can be of any more help. Thanks for looking into this for me.
  6. Hi Can anyone help/advise on this problem. I'm using the Affinity Suite on a Mac and have just produced a 24pp magazine utilising various effects. When I export to pdf for reproduction, I rasterise unsupported properties to render the effects I've applied accurately. This time for a reason which, at this point, I don't understand, it has rasterised several, but not all, of the entire pages including all text panels on those particular pages. On the pages where the text hasn't been rasterised, I have applied the same text style as those on the pages rasterised. I've got round this, this time by rasterising all the elements that need it individually within Publisher and then changing my PDF setting to rasterising nothing. But this is a long-winded and risky procedure and also meant I had to rasterise live text that shadow was applied to – far from ideal. I'm using Publisher 2.0.4. I haven't incurred this problem before. Anybody any ideas?
  7. Thank you Thomaso. Sorry for the very late response.
  8. I often use tracking to typeset some of my work in Publisher, sometimes with various tracking values being used in one sentence. If I later go to revise some tracking and highlight a portion of text containing different tracking values, I would have thought the tracking panel window should show blank, but it contains a tracking figure which seems arbitrary. This can lead to some confusion. Can I do anything to correct this?
  9. Affinity Publisher has the passthrough option which works perfectly well.
  10. Is it possible to open a pdf in Affinity Designer using the subset fonts in the pdf, so it displays accurately? Designer asks to substitute fonts from your library, which I don't aways have, rather than using the embedded subset fonts. Publisher has the passthrough option; is anything similar available for Designer? Or does anyone know of a work round? I'm occasionally asked to revise an ad I've received as a pdf and without the fonts used, it is often impossible.
  11. It is now working. I moved the adjustment layer from the layer's thumbnail and tried positioning it above and then below the thumbnail. No change. When I put it back onto the layer's thumbnail, it worked. Seems a bit flaky. Sometimes it works, sometime's it doesn't.Thanks for all the help.
  12. I'm having a problem applying an adjustment to a single layer. Wherever I place the adjustment layer, below, above or on top of a layer, the change affects all the layers. I have turned off the 'edit all layers' button at the bottom left of the layers panel. I'm at a loss at what to do. Can anybody help? I'm working on an iMac.
  13. YES! That's solved it. Didn't know that option was there. Thank you very much.
