  1. This issue just came up when parking text in a note. I don't intend to use notes in these grey intermezzo frames for the final layout.@Hangman
  2. In my case the text frame's bottom should not align with the baseline grid 😉
  3. That's something I keep forgetting about. Anyways, added the text wrap to the converted shape and added another shape below in the group with no fill or stroke to more easily align the bottom of the text frame to the baseline (so I don't need to use transforms when I use the group's handles instead).
  4. It does, yes. With all types of Text Wrap. That works as well, however, with a converted shape you can no longer adjust the rounding of the frame. Ideally, text frames themselves should allow for rounding – as well as text styles when you fill a frame (in which case the frame stays rectangular but its fill isn't).
  5. Indeed, that's the main reason why this is setup the way it is, otherwise I'd have used a coloured text frame.
  6. @MikeTO The bug, at least for me, also applies to the Jump text wrap setting. 2024-04-10 16-46-10.mp4
  7. Yes indeed, I extended the intermezzo frame for convenience while I work on the layout and add images (it's just to park text temporarily). Either way, there are text flow issues.
  8. That said, all of those options are more involved than a simple export > set pages > done.
  9. Also notice that if I change the text wrap settings with an offset of 20mm, which is less than the column width of 81mm, it affects the right-most column. 2024-04-10 13-01-17.mp4
  10. The difference between save as and export is that the document you are working on is left open and remains untouched in an export, whereas it is 'closed' and renamed on save as.
  11. So long as I am experiencing crashes when deleting pages, no. I have filed bug reports for the crashes, they are logged. But, with save as it is really easy to confuse files, to forget to save the old version and delete from the newly saved-as version.
  12. It would be nice if the Export function were to allow for exporting .afpub documents, so you can create a new document from specific pages within a file. I don't want to use the save as function, because it is easy to accidentally delete pages from the wrong file.
  13. I have an issue where adding a footnote to my document interrupts the flow of the text in the document. I have simplified the file by adding the pages to a new document. As you can see in the video, it's not like the footnote has a text wrap applied to it. 2024-04-10 12-37-16.mp4 This happens in Publisher 2.4.2, Windows 10.0.19045. Text wrap bug.afpub
  14. Thank very much for recovering my shortcuts @Dan C! I will also be attaching my Publisher shortcuts, considering they may help diagnose conflict between Publisher and Designer that may have arisen in the transferring of shortcuts between the two (I left Photo mostly untouched). 15. No worries about the delay, I'm glad you can help! The shortcuts originally stem from 1.8 or 1.9 iirc (bought the suite on 25-11-2021 and made immediate modifications). Don't know with which I started. I've kept most of ths Beta shortcuts separate, though I did transfer them over at least twice (once recently for 2.4 and possibly during 2.1-2.2*). In addition, I have transfered Designer's shortcuts to Publisher and vice versa when I made extensive changes while working in on or the other almost exclusively). But up until this point I haven't really encountered any issues like this (always tested the recent assignments when I transferred them over - which I partially did for the lack of a search feature to help remove duplicates or to quickly locate tools). * There's been a time where thd beta was stable thanks to a fix for the canvas freezing with zooming and panning.
  16. I have cleaned up this file, but it still fails to export to SVG properly by retaining the colours. The preview is also the result that I get from the export, even though I have nothing more going on than a gradient. The source file was originally created in inkscape as SVG. I have even changed the gradient to be linear and simplified the shape here, but the issue persists. This is in 2.4.2.2371, Windows 10, didn't bother to check in the release as I already spent quite some work to trouble shoot. Fails to export.afdesign
  17. @Dan C Resetting the shortcuts and then changing the Help to F12 and Cycle selection box to F1 indeed fixes the issue. But when I load my shortcuts from the saved file, it stops working again (and there's no yellow triangle to indicate any conflicts). Would you mind inspecting shortcuts file? It's machine language in Notepad, so I can't inspect it myself. I made extensive changes, which I don't want to redo. E: File should have been named 2.4 Shortcuts 🙄 AD 2.1 Shortcuts - F1 conflict.afshort
  18. Thanks @Jon P, glad you managed to find at least one cause. I recall selecting objects in the layers panel or on the canvas can occasionally crash the apps, but to me its still illusive when or how. It has been bugging me for quite a while since 2.2-ish, so hopefully that's the thing you've managed to reproduce.
  19. What is interesting is that the syncing of contours doesn't work once you've created a contour on one of the two symbols (in 2.4.1): 2024-04-02 18-38-55.mp4 E: But that also appears to be the case in 1.10. Applying a contour to a symbol there doesn't do any weird things. And baking appearance resyncs the symbols in 1.10 and 2.4.1. 2024-04-02 18-47-11.mp4 I do notice that the contour options don't reflect changes well when the contour is applied to the symbol itself (which is the same in 1.10): 2024-04-02 18-55-54.mp4
  20. @Jon P I just tried 2.4.1 with this workflow and I noticed an oddity. I accidentally applied a contour to the symbol, instead of the Cog shape within. What I noticed was the following radius: -5617796432273141344166258189304926701357392918697256622555701206311827898056117608047410156872079459375406174269681081659962419607993374676063852534753614728873005098613305424970395454391030366763423133660260103120185318475495777445089358777767903281174794231747679294857750008914574332601970467643162886144 px and I have moved my mouse only so far as what would ordinarily be a 5-6 px radius. 1. The cog was created on a 64 x 64 px canvas, then turned in to a symbol. 2. It was duplicated as symbol 3. I applied a contour to the symbol. Also notice how the software doesn't freeze, but I cannot modify anything, in fact, you see that I have turned off the visibility for every object and yet they still show.
  21. For this particular one, I am using a UK keyboard and use a US international layout, English UK language.
  22. Did you test syncing and desyncing the gears, copy-pasting styles and using the node tool to change the gear (with the on-canvas handles)?
  23. When I created the synced gear symbols in a clean 2.4.1 file, there weren't any problems either. It often feels like issues only start to show as files get bigger. But, I have also been unable to reproduce anything reliably in the beta.
  24. Ah yes, I see, accidental misclick carried through all the way in the file after copy-pasting the gradient style over.
