  1. To be clear -- this issue may be present in macOS 12.x... but this is a problem w/ the app and development team; and it clearly isn't getting the appropriate attention. I've lost work due to this issue. I have to imagine that Serif no longer has any development staff. At this point, the Adobe price-point makes sense.
  2. @Zheehau If you are using the symbols feature, there is a reported/known issue with macOS 12 (since Oct.). It's reproducible and, depending on the complexity of your documents, causes the application to become unusable for many of us. Perhaps you're experiencing something similar -- or something under the hood is causing a similar symptom. For what it's worth -- I'm not experiencing issues like this in any other applications. Moreover, nearly all of my other design applications have been updated multiple times since late Oct. Serif is an outlier at this point.
  3. @Hellodesigners @Callum If you are using the symbols feature, there is a reported/known issue with macOS 12 (since Oct.). It's reproducible and, depending on the complexity of your documents, causes the application to become unusable for many of us. Perhaps you're experiencing something similar.
  4. @RADAR products It's likely that adding symbols as assets won't work the way you're hoping. Managing them can/will be a nightmare if your work is iterative between the documents. You should also be careful: The symbols feature of the current Affinity Designer (1.10.4) has some known issues on macOS Monterey. Using the symbols feature may cause the application to become unusable -- specifically, the application can become extremely latent and unresponsive when using complex or extensive symbols. The issues were reported and confirmed (in ~late Oct.), but haven't been addressed to this point. Hopefully they will be resolved in the near future; as well as some of the lingering and outstanding enhancement requests.
  5. @stokerg Any updates on this issue (e.g. issues w/ Symbols causing extreme latency)? It's been a while since I'd reported the issue -- and I have no way of working on my projects. Please advise.
  6. Sry -- yes, I was just making sure that no one thought this was acceptable. And I agree, that would be a great addition as well. I don't often need to delete multiple symbols, but when I do it's awfully painful. Thanks for helping keep a pulse.
  7. Removing symbols defeats the purpose of this functionality entirely -- and is not a workaround for anyone using these features extensively. Regardless of the technical issue(s) described here, the Symbols feature is missing some rather basic features -- e.g. sorting, searching, auditing/reporting instances, deferred rendering, etc. Hopefully this receives the attention that it deserves very soon.
  8. Any chance that there is an update to this issue? I am still experiencing these issues -- and it's caused a great deal of issues to my existing projects. Please advise.
  9. @stokerg Thank you! I'm very happy to hear that the DEV team is aware and has an idea of the issue. Also, I wouldn't be upset if they added the ability to sort, search, re-attach, and 'delete non-referenced symbols'.
  10. Update: The issue appears to be related to Symbols. After uninstalling, and cleaning up the application leftovers, I launched the app and did not experience issues -- *until I updated my Studio settings to include Symbols. It is reproducible on my machine. Unfortunately, I rely on these heavily... so again, the application is unusable at this time.
  11. Given that it's the only application that is experiencing these types of issues, I'd lean heavily on the recent application update. Nevertheless, I wouldn't rule out either.
  12. @adolphsen That's exactly what I'm experiencing. The application has become entirely unusable.
  13. I've been using AD for years, and have never had any performance issues that I can (ever) recall. After upgrading to macOS Monterey and downloading the latest AD update, I am having pauses between tasks, whether dragging an object/symbol, hiding/showing a layer, etc. It's consistent, and highly reproducible. Any thoughts, etc? iMac Pro (8-core Xeon @ 3.2Ghz), 32 GB, Radeon Pro Vega 64 16GB. Moreover, is there a way to downgrade from an update? Thanks!
  14. I was afraid that this was the case. Given my concerns, I suspect Serif will fold before ever getting to these features (and certainly before providing an API). Adobe prices aren’t what they once were (with respect to the features, support, portability, etc.)… perhaps I’m just barking up the wrong tree. Thanks, Mate.
  15. There are some very basic features missing from the Asset and Symbol implementations -- as it relates to sorting, renaming, organizing, and/or searching. They're *very basic (list) features, and I'm honestly surprised that they do not exist. I had assumed that these features would evolve, but it's been years now. Nevertheless, I have some rather large and complex files that use these features extensively. I'm now curious if the files can be navigated, filtered, sorted, and rewritten. I suspect with the amount of time that I've spent attempting to make these features work for my project(s), it may be prudent to write some helper tools. Thanks!
  16. 100% -- really odd that this is a missing feature... and ~6 years outstanding.
