Hi, after upgrade on Sonoma 14.0 I'm constantly getting the following bugs: *since the issue with the light UI is already known I won't include it here. Other problems I've had during work: 1. Some keyboard shortcuts don't work: e.g. I have set the Next page shortcut to cmnd+down arrow >> it doesn't work. If I change it a combination of cmnd + any number >> it does work. I've tried over 20 different combinations and none of them worked (except cmnd+number). 2. Apply master function - after the menu to select which master to apply pops up, selecting any master page is not possible so the action cannot be completed (video attached). Thank you walt.farrell, I just tried the workaournd from this thread and it worked. I was so anxious before, so I've missed it when was searching in the forum... Although dark UI mode is very harsh to me eyes it's still some temporary solution and it would let me work for a while. Hope the Affinity team will find a solution soon ❤️

Hi there, I've just upgraded to Sonoma 14.0 and Affinity Publisher just cannot open. Every time when I try to launch it, just crashes. What is going on and is there a way to be resolved? I have a digital products business which is completely based on the use of Publisher and all my work is just stuck now. I see here and there in the forum that Publisher is not prepared to work with Sonoma, but if (I hope not) is true then there had to be some announcement! 😑

Fortunately, it came out it is not bug in Publisher I found a solution proposed in Apple community forum. I will attach the link (hope this is not against the forum rules), in case other users have the same issue like me. Hi! This was also my first assumption, but even the focus is for sure on the add hyperlink dialog, I cannot type in number via the number keyboard.

Hi there! I have recently added a separate number keyboard to the main one, in order to improve ergonomics, because I create large pdf files with thousands of hyperlinks (object to page). Unfortunately I cannot find a way to use it with the Add Hyperlink function. When I try to type the Page Nr to which I want to direct the hyperlink, the number keyboard change the opacity of the object I want to add the link. I am aware that it is normal to regulate the opacity by selecting an object and then give the opacity value with the numpad, but in my case I try to enter a numeric value in the field of Page Nr. When typing in Text field or any other function filed (e.g. font size, stroke size, etc) there is no issue. Has anyone had such an issue and is there any solution and/or workaround? thanks!

Hi Bruce, thank you for the tip, I will try to work in this way at the moment, but still hope someday there will be improvement in the hyperlinking function. There are few hyperlinking options that are extremely time consuming and help a lot for people like me, who create interactive stationery ❤️ I just have a question - when I use a full-page transparent rectangle, will the page zoom when clicking on the hyperlinked object or I will be directed to the full page? TIA

Hi Melila! I am very happy to help My spreads are with the 12,9 in ipad size 1366 x 1024 px and exported at 72 dpi as I have only several raster images in the cover pages. During the trials I noted significant improvement time when using the 9,7in size (1024 x 768 px) which should be also fine at the bigger display and whilst this planner is meant only for digital use and not for printing. My I kindly to share at what set you have reached the lag-free result and what is the reason to use a 5100 px wide spreadsheet? I would be happy to exchange experience. Thanks, Tanya :))))

Hello Walt and thank you for the welcome greetings. In regards of point 2), I do mean hyperlink to page (not an anchor to a certain text or object) and cross-referencing (if I understand it correct in the context of Affinity) would not work for this issue. I am looking for a feature that would really keep the link to the page regardless of it's number and order after one time is set. In the other softwares I've been using, this is available by default and it really saves lots of time and "pain" if you suddenly realise that one more page should be inserted / deleted Page numbering I do not need to be inserted at that type of products. To point 4) - first accept my apologise as obviously English is not my native language What I meant - when I have to design two or more master pages, most of the time they are pretty similar and I duplicate the first master multiple times. When I insert hyperlink to a page in any of the master pages, this hyperlink does apply not only to the pages based on this master, but also on the masters that were duplicated from it. It seems they are linked and not recognised as different objects. I hope my explanation make sense now I am working already 6hrs in the Affinity pub after my 9to5 main job and my brain is tired

Hi Sweetmintlife and Melila, Try to play with the Colour format setting of the document (8 or 16 bit RGB), the colour profiles, export resolution and the converting image colour spaces. Based on the graphics and content in my planners I have found the best working (for me) document and export settings after over 40 trials. The reaction time when switching pages is less than 1s in document with over 800 pages. For example, if you would like your planner to be with good quality both on iPad 8 and Ipad pro, choose the 12,9 Ipad logic screen size for your spread and put 72 dpi as export resolution as this is enough for a digital content that would not be printed. Setting the colour format to 8-bit would also reduce the lag, but keep in mind that If you are sing plenty of shaded objects or raster images this would reduce the image quality though reducing the reaction time of the file in the notetaking app. I would love to give a "ready recipe" but it really depend on what kind of content is in your planner (primary vector or raster, images, etc). Using a scalable vector objects helps keeping your planner lag-free and with great quality at the same time. I hope this helps at least a bit. Good luck to both of you!

Hi there, I am an interactive pdf's creator (such as digital planners, journals etc.) and have been testing to transfer from InDesign to Affinity Pub. The hyperlinking functionality is one of the most important for my products and I find the following states as disadvantages that are really making my work more difficult and extremely time consuming (for instance I am woking with over 800 pages in a file with over 5000 hyperlink to pages in total).Here are weaknesses I've experience and some proposals, based on my previous experience with other softwares used for creating products like mine: 1) every time when right-click on an already hyperlinked object, I see only the "Insert Hyperlink" option as it has never been linked before. No option to Change and/or Delete the existing Hyperlink. Adding this in the context menu would be very helpful. 2) hyperlink to a certain page is not fixed. E.g.: If I hyperlink an object/text to a Page 10 and change its order (as result of moving it to another place or add/delete other pages, then it becomes Page 15) the link is still remaining active for the "new" Page 10 and to the hyperlinked one. Making the hyperlink "fixed" to the page and being unchangeable despite the added/deleted pages or changed position would eliminate the need to repair all links after adding just one page in the document. I do not understand why the target page is not fixed... 3)this one is not "expected" feature but I assume colleagues who are creating digital interactive products would agree it would help us (it saved me lots of time in other softwares)=> Lets say we have a "set" of 11 pages with page numbers from 10 to 21. The first one contains 10 object which are respectively hyperlinked to the rest 10 pages. When selecting and duplicating the whole set of 11 pages after page 100, at the current version of the Affinity Pub, they would keep the hyperlinks to the pages Nr. 11-21. My proposal is to make the hyperlink adaptive in this case => i.a. when pasting the pages after p.100 to adapt the hyperlink respectively to pages from 101 to 111. 4)Last but not least - when duplicating a master page (because I need just tiny change in the design) and afterwards add hyperlinks, they are applied both to the original and the duplicated page. This make me create every single master page from scratch. I really like Affinity softwares (currently trying both Designer and Photo as substitutes to the PS and Ai) and would be so so happy if I may continue working with Affinity Pub, but not on the price to spend hours and hours more on the same project.
