  1. Thanks Alfred for that info, yeah, it should definitely be called "Open..." or "Open from files..." so that it includes the non-cloud iPad storage too. Unfortunately only one of the files I had "saved" to my iPad was in the Affinity iPad folder, so I'm back to where I started, with a save that maybe sometimes works or does nothing. At least I now know where to look to see if something has saved or not before closing the files. Thanks!
  2. Thanks DM1! I had no idea I had to turn on iCloud saving there in order for that to work. Ok, so since it previously was only saving to my iPad, where in the world are those files saved at… I see no “open from iPad” option for my previously saved files, (only open from iCloud, which now created a folder and works).
  3. Thanks. Yeah, everything is up to date, and I've waited upwards of 15 minutes over multiple tries. Exporting the file to dropbox works perfectly and is fairly quick, save as to dropbox worked perfectly and is fairly quick. Saving however, seems to do nothing... which leads me to believe it isn't dropbox that is the problem, as then exporting and save as wouldn't work.
  4. So I opened a file from Dropbox into Affinity Designer but when I go today to save it from the home screen, it does nothing. I can jump to dropbox to see if it has received a file and is uploading (like it has done in the past) but nothing. Now if I export a file it works perfectly... saves right to Dropbox. Shows up in Dropbox and Files. Shows up on my desktop. So it seems maybe Dropbox isn't the issue, but something in Affinity Photo's save option...?
  5. Oh, I don't mind the fact that it opens with a 10% radius, that's easy enough to lower to zero. But I'd consider the tool broken if turning it down to zero is actually turning it down to say 7% or whatever it's actually doing rather than 0%. I'm attempting to refine my selection, not let it auto-select an entirely new fuzzy selection that it doesn't' give me control over. But I'd love it if it actually went down to zero like Photoshop, which would allow a person to refine the selection by just painting in the areas one wants to refine (which Affinity photo does already do perfectly... it's just unfortunately does it automatically everywhere one doesn't want it as well, when having the auto adjustment part set to zero radius should mean no radius adjustment at all).
  6. I just noticed that just clicking OK without even entering a precise number also resets the position to zero.
  7. I'm in a document with multiple art boards (not sure if this is important) and when I try manually entering a position for a guide with the pop-up keypad, upon hitting OK it changes it to zero every time, and I can't figure out a way to actually use the guides precisely. Seems like a bug?
  8. Dang it, that's too bad. Affinity is so promising and the interface is nice and snappy compared to Adobe's apps, but every time I try using it for my real work (in this case for a major shoe company near Portland, wink wink), things just don't work. Yeah, I'd love it if you let the dev team know that when set to zero it doesn't do zero, but if it did do zero (emulating Photoshop doing nothing when set to zero) then it would make that tool way more useful! I'll try Affinity photo again down the road, as I'd love to have an option to Photoshop.
  9. Let me know if I'm missing something: So I typically make nice crisp selections of hundreds of products or people using paths in Photoshop which I turn into selections, and occasionally they'll need to have textured cloth areas or hair that extends out of this crisp selection. So when I do this in Photoshop I go to refine selection and my sharp selection stays exactly how I made it if everything in Refine is at zero (such as the edge border radius) and then I can just refine the edge only in the area with, say, hair or furriness by painting over the textured area with the refine edge brush. Works perfectly, only changes my selection where I paint. However when I try the same thing in Affinity Photo, it opens with the edge radius set to 10% which of course ruins the entire crisp selection I'm starting with by attempting to "fix" my perfect edges everywhere... however if I slide this down to 0% so that it has no radius, the radius narrows a little but still keeps a fairly wide radius where it attempts making its own selection, grabbing things I've trimmed out, etc. Now, using the brush to refine the edges where there is hair or texture works great, but it is worthless when 90% of the selection is ruined from the get-go. Am I missing something? I want to retain my selection, I only want to use refine edge to change a few areas I want to refine. I don't want it to attempt refining my edge on it's own when the edge border (and everything else) is set to zero. !?
  10. I'm having this problem in the current versions as well, so frustrating, I just wasted much of the workday trying to use the apps (latest version of each). So I worked on a new file in the mac version, opened it on iOS, made some clipping paths and clipped adjustment layers, then I go back on the Mac, and all the clipped layers are in reverse order (however they seem to be displaying correctly). Not only that, but they can't be dragged to reorder them, dragging down one layer, for instance, will move it completely out of the clipped group (clicking the move up or down on the main toolbar works as expected, aside from everything being upside-down). Back in iOS everything works as it should, I can drag layers up and down no problem, and everything is right-side up.
