  1. Glad it worked in the end. I never needed to restart to get the fix to work but I’ll bare that in mind if I start to get issues with any further updates. I did notice that I had the same issue with another app that recently needed updating. It’s possible older versions of the App Store (on older Mac OS systems) are the issue and maybe something happening behind the scenes on updates to the App Store development for Mac OS 11 are causing the problems. Might mean that using the App Store for purchases might not be the safest way to purchase and could be coming to an end for older systems. As a few people have mentioned, might be better buying directly from the developers of the apps in future purchase if you’re running older Mac OS systems, I think you’ll find more issues with the App Store as time goes by.
  2. Unfortunately I bought AFP through the App Store. Hope the final version doesn't lose this again. Also, have you been linking the Eye Candy filters in any special way? I had it linked through my copy which is installed in Photoshops Plugins folder. Wasn't sure if it helped having it solely installed somewhere more local for AFP.
  3. Probably best putting Publisher app in the trash and going back to the App Store 'Purchases' tab and redownloading the app. That should allow you to download Publisher from scratch... that worked for me anyway
  4. Good to hear this helped! Seems the easiest of solutions, you'd never think about, worked! I'd probably think about buying direct from Affinity next time (instead of through App Store), much easier to solve without a go between updater program to worry about when any installer or app problems arise. I wonder if Affinity will have any special sidegrade discount options, for prior App Store Affiniy owners, if they purchase direct from Affinity when version 2.0 apps appear?
  5. That's ashame! Hope some similar styles can make it into AFP. I bought the fire and clouds brushes for Affinity (50% off atm!) to try to fill that void Eye Candy left but it seems realistic metal styles or macros are hard to come by. The tutorials I've seen seem like a lot more work and reminds me of the early days of Photoshop and trying to do the same thing. Hopefully something will come along. Thanks for the info. I can stop banging my head against the wall trying to get Eye Candy working in AFP.
  6. Hi, I've seen posts that people have managed to get Eye Candy 7 working in Affinity Photo and wondered how they did it. I've been trying to get the Exposure Eye Candy filter to work but I'm not getting anything apart from it being available in the menu (but no Eye Candy UI at all when you select it from the menu). I've linked Affinity Photo 1.9 to my Photoshop Plugin folder that the filter resides in. I'm running a slightly older Eye Candy version (7.2.3.96) but seem to be getting slightly less far as everyone else, who seem to be getting the interface with control settings. Could anyone who is running the filter tell me the process they've taken to get the filter working and where they've been locating the Eye Candy filter (is it installed somewhere specifically away from Photoshop installed Eye Candy?). Also, the version numbers for filter and Affinity app as I'm on MacOS 10.10 so wondering if any version numbers are the problems. Thanks
  7. Hi, I know this topic has been around a few forum topics, I was a wondering whether anyone knows of anywhere I can purchase macros, brushese or styles to create chrome and other metals and rare materials for use in bevelled text or shapes in Affinity Photo or if there's a resource available for such things? I've seen some samples in various forum topics but they don't seem as realistic (I'm thinking it's due to the image refractions which help it along). I basically was looking for a quick way to duplicate what Exposure Eye Candy does as I can't seem to get it to work in AFP. Thanks for the help in advance. Alec
  8. Hi, I'm trying to get the Eye Candy filter to work but I'm not getting anything apart from it being available in the menu (no Eye Candy UI at all). 9. Ahh, ok, that's the problem... I'm running 10.10 Looks like manual installs for me!... Don't suppose the feature will be extended to older OS's???... Thanks for the help.
  10. Hi, I'm trying to get the 'myaccount' working for my newly installed Affinity 1.9 apps but for the life of me I can't. The menu option is grey'ed out and the toolbar button doesn't do anything as many times that I've tried clicking on it. I've read the online docs regarding setup but the first stage is to access the 'myaccount' settings, which I can't. I'm currently running Mac OS 10.10 and I have a internet connection. Does anyone have any answer as to how to get this working? Thanks in advance. Alec
  11. After a chat with Apple telephone support I managed to fix the problem which was similar to youra. Although I couldn't update the Affinity apps if I deleted them from my Macs 'Applications' folder, the App Store recognized them as not on the system and gave me the option of downloading them from fresh which then gave me the latest versions. As I was a bit hesitant to delete the original 1.8 versions of the apps, in case Iit didn't fix the problem and lost the apps altogether, I just moved them to the trash as it seemed to hide them from the App Stores sight. Hope this works for you.

  13. Hi v_kyr, Yes tried that and same alert came up still. Is there a way to change over to the downloadable version on Affinity's own website? It would solve the problem so much quicker for me.
  14. Hi, I have two of my three desktop Affinity apps purchased through the App Store and noticed the new version 1.9 updates had come out. Until now, updating wasn't a problem but this time around I keep getting the alert 'The iTunes Store is unable to process purchases at this time. Please try again later' when I press the 'update' buttons for both apps. I've had the problem since Saturday and still no change. I've tried hard connecting my Mac to my router and loging out of the App Store, all of which made no difference. Any ideas what might be the problem? The App Store status (https://www.apple.com/uk/support/systemstatus/) is showing its fine, when I check on the Apple.com website and I'm able to get into my iTunes account and see all the App Store Features, and payment details, so it has a connection, just can't update the Affinity apps. I'm running MacOS 10.10 which I thought might be the problem but from the App Store info pages, for your app, it says the OS is supported so I'm a bit stumped why I'm having issues. A live chat to Apple Support seems to have not helped either. They've just walked me through generic troubleshooting for checking I have a connection and other unrelated issues that relate to iOS and not MacOS apps. Please can you help as it's so annoying that such a simple issues is stopping me from downloading your fantastic apps. Thanks in advance for your help. Alec
