  1. Please visit Dropbox.com and up-vote this request to add previews for Affinity file formats to the platform. Thanks. https://www.dropboxforum.com/t5/Dropbox-ideas/Preview-support-for-Affinity-Designer-Photo-and-Publisher/idc-p/588193#M66866
  2. @R C-R Thanks for that suggestion. The next time I encounter this problem I will do exactly as you say. Anything to make this great application better
  3. I take care to make sure that requirement is met. I suggest if it is so easy to cause the feature to fail, an alternate way to execute the feature might be a good idea.
  4. That's the weird thing. I can get it to work sometimes as with the example below using the Transform studio panel, but other times the power duplicate feature completely fails. It's this unreliability of the operation that puzzles.
  5. Actually, it's not working for me when I use power duplicate on path text and shapes. There is no option to Enable Trasform Origin when certain objects are selected. The power duplicate feature is definitely broken.
  6. By using the Move tool and toggling the Enable Transform Origin on the contextual toolbar for the Move tool, I was able to get consistent results. Thank you so much!
  7. I am not getting consistent results with Power duplicate on Affinity Designer 1.10.4.1198 on Windows 11. In the attached sample file — Test.afdesign — the rotation point of the green circle is set to the middle of the document using the Point Transform Tool. Then Ctrl+J is used to duplicate the circle. Using the Transform studio dialog the duplicate circle is rotated 15° around the rotation point set by the Point Transform Tool. Next Ctrl+J is used again to create a new duplicate. The new duplicate should be rotated 15° from the previous duplicate. Instead the new circle is created in the same location as the original. Is this a known bug, or am I doing something wrong? 8. Hello and thank you for your request for more information. When collaborating with other artists, or standardizing workflow, recipes, and methods for professional and personal styles, adding detailed metadata or being able to see details about the objects in document is essential. Other uses will be to add copyright information, artist attributions, and keywords which aid finding and organizing shared resources. Here's an article from Adobe regarding the use of metadata in Illustrator: https://helpx.adobe.com/be_en/illustrator/using/file-information-metadata.html Here is an article on adding metadata to the SVG format: https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/SVG/Element/metadata I hope this answers your questions.
  9. It would help professional workflows to have full access to the metadata for documents created and managed in Designer. This data should include information like the number and types of vector and bitmap objects in the document. It would also help to be able to add comments to metadata fields for attribution, and other notes to designers who might collaborate on a document. Thank you.
  10. That sounds like an amusing test. Right now, the system is stable with with the affinity settings you suggested. I have turned OpenCL turned back on and it remains stable. Hopefully, there will be a firmware update and/or driver update from AMD to address the threading issues. I can live with this for now.
  11. It's possible there is a problem with the power delivery and cooling of this computer. Early reviews of this system reported there were some thermal issues. Due to the sudden and complete nature of the shutdowns, no information is logged in the Event Viewer. I found this one entry from 12 days ago:
  12. How would this be best resolved? Would it be by a firmware update from AMD, or by a video driver patch?
  13. The PC is a CHUWI RZBOX. This is a new mini PC that was shipped last month.
  14. @Pauls The graphics drives are up-to-date. There are 8 cores with 16 total threads on the Ryzen 9 Mobile 4900H processor. I set the affinity in for Designer.exe in taskmanger to use 6 threads. I was able to work with drawings that have embedded bitmaps with no sudden shutdowns. Designer appeared to be stable. I will do further testing. This is progress.
  15. @Pauls I have uploaded a file that generates sudden shutdowns, along with a crash report from November. Designer does not usually have a chance to create a crash file since we are dealing not just with an application crash, but the whole operating system crashes, then requires a cold restart. Also, I was able to replicate the sudden shutdown in Publisher, but Photo is stable.
