  1. I share your view on making a CJK edition, as Adobe did in the 1990s with its Japanese company, the result of which would be a game changer for Affinity as a player in the Asian market.
  2. I think people requesting CJK support on this forum underestimated the complexities and amount of efforts that are required to implement properly CJK typesetting features. These are very fundamental and significant functions of the Adobe products where they excel. And it's not like Affinity/Serif can catch up in a short period of time in this regard, especially if this issue is not prioritized. Thus I do not foresee the arrival of those features in the near future, which makes it almost impossible to use for pro work for projects with CJK texts. It's a shame as the apps themselves are really handy to use in comparison to the Adobe products.
  3. I found this thread attempting to look for info on Chinese typesetting support for the Affinity Designer and Publisher. I would point you to a print publication in 2020 by thetype.com with regards to Chinese typesetting rules/norms (link below). I think it would benefit development hugely in terms of implementing CJK features. Typesetting features for Chinese are a lot less daunting in comparison to those of Japanese but they do overlap immensely with a few key differences. https://www.typotheque.com/books/collection_of_research_on_chinese_typography
  4. Is there no official idea to enter the Chinese market?? – I assume it was not a priority as you wrote the post in 2019. However, I do find there is an immeasurable niche market within the CJK world for Affinity programs if the developer manages to solve these very essential CJK typesetting issues, i.e. CJK composer/typesetting engine, Composite Fonts, Mojikumi, Kinsoku Shori, etc.
