  1. Thanks for this! Just saved us a bunch of effort as well. Also stumbled upon if you drag the line between two Smooth points while holding the Opt/Alt key, it converts the nodes on either side to Sharp automatically, which is even more useful.
  2. Freakin' brilliant! Thanks a lot! Don't know why it didn't come up in a searches before. (And this is the second product we've seen this week with a "Warm Reminder.")
  3. Thanks, but not really knowing anything about MIDI, this reads and looks like the kind of stuff that requires a blowtorch, a steel press, and a bit of McGyerin'. Oh, and a whole lotta Superglue. Way beyond the scope of what we're trying to accomplish. We had seen reviews of the Loupedeck CT. Looked incredible. Then we saw the price. We finally stumbled upon a USB volume control and ordered one to see if we can get it working. Was hoping, though, that someone else might've already gotten this problem solved, at a reasonable price and no requirement of an EE degree. Though, as you say, it was interesting. Thanks!
  4. We've gotten all of our key commands down to an 18-key numpad, but we'd like to be able to easily rotate and zoom the canvas without using the mouse. Thanks for any suggestions.
  5. Still missing that would be greatly helped by keyboard shortcuts: Delete Undo Redo Deselect (broken) Close Window Hide/Unhide UI Resize Brush Larger Resize Brush Smaller Hitting those little targets from one corner of the display to the other is a PITA. Also, while we're at it, when I hide the UI, then open a panel to change a brush, then close the panel, the UI remains, meaning I have to hit that tiny little target in the top right corner, which does weird things half the time, like opening a panel. This is the reason for a Hide/Unhide UI keyboard shortcut. (Though really the UI should hide itself if it was hidden when I opened and then closed the panel.)
  6. First of all, Batch Job is freakin' brilliant! Just discovered it while looking for a way to export a large number of Designer files to JPEG and this thing does it in seconds. Thank you! Small thing that would be helpful, though: could you please put the count of files being added in the Add dialog? Would be nice to double-check that we have all our files before processing.
  7. No, our priorities have been elsewhere. We couldn't get it to happen with a simple case either, and, honestly, we've given up on Publisher for now. Too many problems that caused our work to slow down to a crawl. If we get back to it, we'll let you know!
  8. We lost use of our Publisher document for three days, locking up on loading of images. Then, today, after the fourth try, it opened fine. Our guess, based on this, is that there's a race condition that's causing the lockup.
  9. Yes, not in our case. Everything named the same basically. Though, as pointed out, it didn't even sort them alphabetically as Section 1 is stuck at bottom. The more desired approach, which appears half-implemented, is to be able to sort them manually. They can be dragged & dropped, but just return to their own order
  10. Okay, he's a very simple example of what we're trying to do. The actual drawings are much more complicated, but we won't be posting them here for proprietary reasons. We are trying to get from vector drawing on left, made up of a bunch of brush strokes, to a simple, filled silhouette, like on the right… Clearly, rasterizing & using the Fill tool won't work, as it fills the entire page. Anyway, we used the Selection Brush Tool and it got use where we needed to go. Still don't know what "fill color" means, despite searching. (And, My God! It was more effort to get the danged file off our iPad!)
  11. Boy, would love to give an example of what I'm talking about, but I can't get the effin' file to save to iCloud from my iPad. Why is this still so difficult?
  12. Okay, don't know how to do this, so we'll look into it. Now, we want to fill the area between the lines, inside the space of the character, not change the color of the lines themselves. If that makes sense.
  13. Okay, just stumbled upon Selection Brush Tool. Seems to work pretty nice and doesn't run out to select surrounding areas even those the lines are not closed.
  14. Going the opposite direction than I think most folks ask. We have a character, drawing using vector brushes in AD (hundred of lines), and want to convert it to a simple, filled in, black silhouette, so we can see the shape. Tried rasterizing & fill (too many openings), magnetic lasso (can't even figure out how that works because with a file of simple 100% lines and transparent background, it doesn't come close to tracing anything), hand paint. Anyone have a neat & quick trick to accomplish this? Thanks!
  15. AD 1.9.whateveristhelatest Whenever we close a document (not Close-close, picking from menu, which deletes it, but closing to go back to main area where all the documents reside. Really, ya'll need to rename that menu item.), and then open a document again, the default set of brushes is always set to Acrylics, which means one more step every time we open a document to change to our own set of brushes. We do this dozens of times in a day, so it gets irritating. Anyway, we deleted all of the default sets of brushes, leaving only our own, which works, but it's a workaround. We then renamed our set so that it's "A [name of set]," then reset the system brushes, and saw that our set comes before Acrylics when we choose Sort by Name. But when we close the document & open it again, it's set to Acrylics again, even though our set is right there above it in the list. Is there any way to get this to work without deleting all the other sets of brushes?
  16. Okay, we finally figured out that this only happens if you have Automatically Hide UI turned ON, which we had. Turned it off, and the problem of the UI popping up when rotating & zooming went away.
  17. Not to slight your suggestion, but we've already fallen for the "number-em-to-keep-em-in-order" trap before with another app, and it quickly got messy, because we are continually moving parts around. For now, we're just chucking anchors aside and fighting on. Thanks, though.
  18. Thanks, but we'd rather they sort themselves in document order.
  19. And, really, when we double-click on an anchor, we kinda expect to jump there in the document. Not have to click-to-select and then hit that little Go To Anchor target.
  20. First, while creating anchors, they do not show up in the Anchor panel in the order they are in the document, but alphabetically, which in some cases is not useful and limiting. Problem is that dragging an anchor gives the impression that they can be sorted manually, but they just jump back into alphabetical order. If giving the user the idea of being able to manually change the order of anchors, they should then stay in that order. Thirdly, it doesn't even sort alphabetically consistently, as demonstrated by Section 1 being near the bottom of the given list. It cannot be moved and we don't know why. It was the first created and is located at the top of the document. (The games as subsets is just a means to work around not being able to place these in manual or document order.) .
  21. Thank you! This is a lifesaver! Now just need to figure out how to make anchors. (We know…now.) Except now we see the Anchor panel sorts only in alphabetical order. Not in the order they are in the document? WTF? Are we missing something?
  22. Both of y'all appear to use the Windows version of Designer, so maybe it's different than on the Mac and they always appear? With Designer on Mac, those page arrows don't appear in the bottom corner unless opening a Publisher file, which is why we didn't think to look down there. Even when we saved the Publisher file opened in Designer as a Designer file, it keeps those pages & arrows, which seems to be a weird quasi-state between Publisher & Designer. We know this isn't how you usually use these, but as stated above, we were trying to get around a bigger issue. Tried searching this in Designer's Help, but there appears to be no information about it.
