  1. Hi I have been beta testing the beta version(s) of Affinity Photo for a couple of months now, i have downloaded 2 versions since I started and am currently using version 1.3.5.15. I have not tried to use it for a few days but when I tried to go into it today via LR, I get a message that will not allow me to open it and message that says I can only open this beta version if i have purchased a retail version, Which I HAVE. in LT if I try to edit my image in my purchased Affinity version its fine and I thought this might"clear the blockage" but next time i tried to use the beta version again NO JOY

  3. LOVING THE BETA VERSION SO FAR. Love the Haze removal filter. Panorama stitching seems to be OK, only tried daylight shots, astro might prove more problematic I usually use Starstax software to stack astro shots to generate star trail outputs. I tried the new stack feature in the beta version to see if I could use it instead of Starstax and I set the bend mode for all layers to lighten (like I do in Starstax) and I got a VERY different result from Starstax, much softer, dreamier and very much less defined star trail affect, very ODD but actually quite likeable. I tried changing the blend mode of all the layers to different blend modes and didn't really get much different results., I thought the different blend modes would give much different results? Id have thought I could get a result (somehow ) that mirrored Starstax I've attached the output from the beta version and the second attachment is a similar image from Starstax Anyway really enjoying it at this stage

  5. Hi yeah it's a raw file, dng..... I usual deal in CR2 files of jpg where I haven't seen this issue before, but this was a pano file created in LR6 where they output the pano as DNG. I HAVNT GOT TIME TO EXPLORE FURTHER TONIGHT BUT I SUSPECT YOU ARE CORRECT , I WILL TRY AND INVESTIGATE TOMORROW, MANY THANKS ( sorry re caps, I didn't realize)
  6. I am editing an image that has a snow clad mountains in it, the peaks of the mountains are black, not white , I assume this is something like a highlight warning/ showing areas that are completely blown out, how can I turn this setting off in situations where I want to
  7. Thanks Matt, the solution of holding the ctl key after trying to open, worked, I can now open Affinity thanks My very limited "play" after opening was interesting, is there a good link avail with tutorials for beginners, I could open an image and do some basic editing but trying to get into layers etc was a bit of a challenge Incidentally you'll see from my earlier posts that I though this was a user forum where users help other users, I don't recall seeing anywhere that the developers were participating in providing solutions, so maybe others thought the same as me, maybe you could make it clearer, just a thought
  8. Thanks tonyB, I had already tried that, in fact I thought I'd be charged again the second time I downloaded it but apple assure me I've only been charged once. Do Serif actually participate in this forum or is it down to users only?
  9. I purchased the latest version of affinity yesterday (not a beta version) it downloaded, I have a receipt and it appears in my iMac I doc and the list of applications but it will not open when I lick in either location, any ideas
  10. I am an iMac user and I've just purchased Affinity. The download appeared to work, I have Affinity listed in the applications folder (shows in Finder) and I have the icon (Purple triangle) in the doc at the bottom of the screen. I find it interesting though that I don't have any sign of Affinity in my downloads folder??) Anyway either clicking the icon in the doc or the application in Finder does nothing, the icon bounces up and down but nothing opens. I have been in touch with apple support who say there is no issues at their end and referred me to the developer but I don't seem to be able to find a direct route to Serif, all I can find is this forum. Can anyone help Cheers Stewart
