+1 Upvote. I would like to welcome someone from Affinity to join the topic party. To all our present-company response credit, we search before requesting. Popular topic, since many, many more who want the feature will not go to the forums. Each of us represents a few hundred or thousand, and more with time, actual users of Designer, Publisher, and Photo.
Adjustments and macros before previewing / printing / press / distribution / sharing are on request, including hiding and showing layers, updating variables, an export log, etc. It is a mess to manually do the same actions for every sample, share, or edition.dot.revision.
The only automated workaround I can think of is to "tag" layer(s) in Affinity with something identifiable by third party software and use that external PostScript/PDF software to update, replace, or exclude (delete).
I used Serif's PagePlus, DrawPlus, WebPlus, PhotoPlus from X4 to X7 and X8. True, Affinity has the visual fluidity of Adobe, though I always argued for Serif for features and presentation. The present reality is that Serif Affinity is not at a baseline of feature parity of Serif Plus.
Life lesson: keep your old systems and software for import and export tweaks. Newer is nice, but not always better, faster, and easier in every way.
