  1. Hi all, I am facing a problsem sometimes, which is rather ridiculous, however, I did not find a solution or any help here in the forum (after a only short search I have to admit): I am somtimes, unintentionally, pressing both, alt+ctrl and then additionally turning the mousewheel. This leads to the whole document spinning around my mouse cursor. I cannot put it back into the right orientation, with turning the wheel backwards, it's always aligned in some angle afterwards. Also ctrl+z doesent work on this. How do I prevent it, and how do I get back when it happens? Thanks!
  2. Thanks Komatös for your help. However, could you please explain what I am doing with these commands before I execute them? THX
  3. Ok, so sorry for the late answer. Thx Komatös for your reply. NVIDIA drivers were up to date that time. However: 1) These crashes also occur when turning off hardware acceleration. They do occur more seldom, however. 2) These crahses seem not to produce a crash report. I had a crash with the same symptoms just now, however the last crash report is from april 23 2021, which actually is also not the time I initially reported the crashes here (post from april 25, same day than the crash). There is no crash report from todays crash, and as I am uncomfortable sharing files which are not connected to the topic I will not attach the old crash report (from aplril 23). Note that this time NVIDIA drivers were not up to date but version 466.11/Game Ready Driver (maybe studio drivers could be part of the solution?) there is a Log file, which is attached. Cheers Miles Log.txt
  4. I'm using the newest version 1.9.2.1035 on Windows 10. The system is a Notebook, 32Gb RAM, Nvidia GTX 1070, I7-7700HQ. Up to now I use hardware acceleration (haven't tested it without). I often use Affinity Photo and/or Designer as a program to save and work on big stiched microsopy images (up to 10 gigapixel). These files have several layers of different microscopy images (mostly .tif) stacked onto each other (visual microscope, electron microscope etc..) and this results in rather huge files of up to 5gb. I hesitated to update to the newest Version of Photo but eventually did so. I can still work on these files, which is good, however, when saving, Photo occasionally crashes. The process is always equal: Photo manages to safe the file, however after the saving bar reaches 100%, a new saving process window appears. The bar there stucks very early and eventually Photo crahses and is terminated. Fortunately the file is saved correctly (at least it appears so to me) and when opening Photo again, it also automatically opens an additional recovered version of the file just saved. Both files (the saved and the recovered one) seem to be identical, however might not as the recovered version is smaller (60% in amount of mb). If I save the original file with a new file name, this file is also smaller than the original... This behavior did not occur on the previous version of Photo I used which was the last 1.8.XXX version, afaik. This also does not always happen. Sometimes Photo manages to save and work after it. It seems to help to have no other documents open in Photo.
  5. As title says. This was possible before 1.8 when not in preview mode and it would be nice to have it back.
  6. Hi, the option to safe a modified embedded document, which was modified in APu, should be made available. Description: I place an Affinity file in an APu document and modify it via double clicking on it. I have the opportunity to use Designer and Photo tools, thats cool and fine! However, I cannot safe the modified file as an Affinity file, instead this option is grayed out under the Files menue. It would be nice, for a reuse of the same file in a later time or so. I can export it as PSD, though, however this seems like a poor workaround for it (e.g. arrows turn to lines...) Things get more complicated, when u have nested modified documents, I assume, but still, it would be great to have this option. Edit: One can copy all layers and open a Designer file from clipboard for instance. But this also does mess up the alignements of the layers a bit.
  7. My question is: Say I have a group of lets say 40 rectangles. Is it possible to set them all to a similar width and height in a short way, or do I have to go through every rectangle and insert my width and height? Many thanks for your answer! Miles
  8. I really like the layer window, it is super useful to sorting, or selecting the objects one wants to work with. However after a short time within a more complicated project there are often many layers of wich only maximum 9 can be seen within the layer window, due to the thickness of the thumbnail size (this is already with small thumbnails and I am not sure how this is dependant on the screen resolution eg. I am using a 1920x1080 screen). It would be nice if one could for example zoom out and in within the layer window. I could easily live with thumbnails and text half the size, maybe even smaller, and I think it would have some not so small impact on productivity, if I am able to go through all layers in a qicker time or have more in view at once than 9. Maybe this function is already incorporated or maybe there are some advanced settings for the thumbnail sizes there? Best regards Miles
  9. I would like to suggest a feature to show the cursor coordinates in Designer. This can be pixel or any unit of length. I find it very useful for quickly rescaling parts of graphics or whole graphics to have the coordinates of certain points with a quick look. Rulers at the top and left of the picture are not sufficient as they are not precise enough, however they imply that this information is available already. There is something like this in Photo I think. Farer a tool to measure distances would be the next step then ;). Best Miles
