  1. It would be great we can open pngs with multiple frames. It stored as apng which can be identified by e.g. ("acTL" hex: 00 00 00 08 61 63 54 4C). Many people don't know that PNG, like GIF, can contain animations, multiple frames. This could be imported in layers. You can create such a PNG in macOS when open a PDF (with multiple pages) and export it as PNG. Btw. same for Tiff and maybe Gif too.
  2. It has not effect. Btw. I thought the text frame content never scales with object, but anyway: There is no difference. I set all to locked and enabled the toggle button. Then scaled it, but it's the same result. But another feature I overlooked. Thanks for the hint. Oh I know: "Scale override will only apply to aspect correct scaling." It's because text frame contents is locked by default. With Scale Override feature you can specify objects which are typically locked (e.g. lines, text frame) to scale with the object. But only if you use the scale handle at the bottom right for aspect scaling. But this feature is the right place for my request. Now we need an entry for general objects, which scale with object by default and which can be locked here. I guess that needs to be implemented first. I want to keep the text size and the size of the object. For now, I found a workaround by moving the text above the arrow or change text rect size manuelly every time I scaled the group.
  3. Thanks, good to know. But that was a mistake on my part. The rectangle of the Text Frame tool scales like all other objects. Only the text itself doesn't. So I have the same problem with a Text Frame with background. But thanks anyway, this reduces my group by one object. It's helpful, so that I must only change the size of one element after scaling the group. However, I still think that locking the scaling of objects is a good feature request, if this is not yet possible. Heres one use case dimensioning. But I also see use cases in UI design prototyping, etc. But in this example, I want the white space with fixed width only behind the text. Currently I change it everytime I change the scale of the parent (group). For e.g. UI design a Toolbar with icons which you want to scale the width to the screen size, will strech the icons on width. Therefore locking scale for the icon would be great. And yes, I know that I could move the text above the arrow, this would solve the issue. But it's about the principle.
  4. How to prevent objects within a group from scaling of the parent? For example: I crafted an arrow with text for dimensioning. Now I want to scale the group without to scale the text and a rectangle. Ok, for the text I found a solution with frame text tool. But I also use a white rectanlge to hide the arrow line behind the text. Because afaik, the text frame tool cannot have a background, right? But anyway, I'm sure there are tons of other use cases like UI design. I'm not sure how this can be possible, I guess Designer uses a transform node around the drawing objects. So how to exclude an object? Maybe with workaround? Any idea of set anchor on another object without grouping, but keep position and angle with the target object (group)? Ideas are welcome... A suggestion: Make the measure tool persistent like other obejects. Currently you can only measure but that is not part of the drawing. It would be great if I can use the measure tool within my drawing. So keep instances. And in best case, let me also change the height to draw the line deeper in the drawing to e.g. Holes etc. Or create a new object for dimensioning. Additional: Let the user change the actual display value.
  5. @walt.farrell Thanks, I missed that new Object Selection Tool. I haven't tested it enough yet, but I've seen better ones. Especially on edges like hair. But it could be helpful. I already tested some online tools. The background is removed automatically almost perfectly. I just thought it would be great if Affinity Photo had a feature like this. I hope it comes soon. I prefer the local, for privacy reasons etc. We'll see.. Thanks again for the hint.
  6. Are there any plans for AI features? I'm thinking about removing the background and extending images. It can and should only be run locally!
  7. Is there already a solution or does this need to be fixed by the developer?
  8. I can't open screenshots properly in Affinity Photo. Because they appear brighter (washed out) than they should when opened. It seems that this because of the color profile "Display P3" set in display settings on macOS. I tested P3 (uiCCPkCGColorSpaceDisplayP3) and sRGB. I need this profile. This is a bug. All other programs have no problem this that. You can reproduce this: 1. Set color profile of macOS to "Display P3". 2. Take a screenshot (e.g. CMD+Shift+4). 3. Open in Affinity Photo. See wrong lighten colors. 4. Set color profile of macOS to "Display" or other. 5. Take another screenshot. 6. Open in Photo. See it seems ok. It's SDR, not HDR. The Catalina island at night looks like at day when opened in Affinity Photo. That's not correct.
  9. Since some versions, Affinity programs create lock files such as afpub~lock~ that persist after the documents and programs are closed. I remember such lock files in LibreOffice which remains on program crashes, but are removed on app or file close. It seems to be a bug on Affinity apps. Current version: 2.5.7, macOS 15.2 (AppStore). Is there an option to disable it?
  10. Thanks for the info. I hope this issue will be fixed soon. I just hope that the tracked issue addresses the same problem. @MEB cc
  11. Converting HEIC to JPG is not an option due to the loss of quality. The HEICs are not corrupted. No special config on my iPhone. It's standard. Maybe Affinity Photo has a simple, unnecessary if-condition somewhere to detect the file like HEIC. Maybe doing less and just try it, would fix the issue. Or update the dependency. But I don't know the source code of this proprietary software. This is definitely an issue on Affinity side. Almost every other program can load it without problems. Including GIMP (free, open source, includes export too). Can you see more details on a debug build of your software or is there a log file? It would be great if Serif could fix this issue. But I doubt that a forum topic can change anything. Or are Serif Developer reading this? I think that's something that we should report in an issue tracker or mail support directly.
  12. Metadata Comparision (random selection that might be helpful) iPhone SE2 HEIC (works in AP) Compatible Brands: mif1, MiPr, miaf, MiHB, heic Image Pixel Depth: 8 8 8 General Level IDC: 60 (level 2.0) iPhone 15 Pro Max HEIC (does not work in AP, but works in e.g. GIMP, Windows default image viewer, thumbnail, Mac preview, etc) Compatible Brands: mif1, MiPr, miaf, MiHB, heic, MiHE, tmap Image Pixel Depth: 10 10 10 General Level IDC: 63 (level 2.1) --- Is there a log file of Affinity Photo with error details? Are Affinity Developers present here?
  13. Sorry, please try it again. I have now tested it on Mac too. iPhone 15 Pro Max.zip
  14. Here is a HEIC file shot from my iPhone 15 Pro Max with iOS 18.0.1 (also tested with 18.1.0). I also have an iPhone SE2 with 18.0.1 where the HEIC works in Photo. Not sure, but maybe it has to do with tmap support. But please don't ask me more about this. I just randomly read something about this on web. Anyway... Funfact: GIMP can load and save this HEIC. Would be great if Affinity Photo could do that too. iPhone 15 Pro Max HEIC.zip
  15. Sorry I don't understand. It's not RAW btw.
