  1. Would someone from Affinity care to comment?
  2. I know this is asking a lot, but when the Affinity Publisher eventually hits the street, it would REALLY helpful if it could open InDesign files? Rather than let Markzware get there first. I hate Adobe subscription and I don't want to go back to Quark.
  3. That's perfect, thanks chaps. You're right about ID2Q, it works well but it's not 100%. Anyway, have purchased Photo and Designer, so I'm in. Thanks for the replies.
  4. Hi Forgive me if these questions have been asked, but I want to kiss Adobe goodbye and jump on board the Affinity train. I'm still using CS5 InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop on Mavericks + CS6 on my MacBook Pro. Using Affinity Photo, Design and Publisher (when it's released), will all Adobe files be completely compatible? Will all the attributes be maintained and are there any known issues relating to specific formatting, either text, blends or clipping paths - you catch my drift I'm sure. Ocassionally I produce work for an digital print house who use CS6, so if I create something in one of Affinity's products, be it a brochure or book for example, will that open seamlessly in InDesign for them to output to a print PDF for example? Thanks for any advice chaps.

    Introduce Yourself

Hi, I'm Howard, I've been a self employed graphic designer since the 80's (actually I started in the early 70's). When computers were invented I started off with Quark v3 / Macromedia Freehand and moved on to InDesign / Illustrator about 6 years ago. I DON'T like Adobe's greedy pricing policy and especially their horrible subscription and where $1200 = £1197 for CS6. I want to upgrade my MacPro to Mavericks from Snow Leopard so my CS5 may not work. Your software was brought to my attention 2 days ago and it looks great I must say. If your Designer will open and save to .ai formats and Publisher likewise for Indesign, I'm in. Well done to you guys for developing such polished, professional software. Do we have a date for Publisher yet? Kind regards to all
