So in other words this issue is now approximately 8 months old and still not fixed. Bummer. A little disappointed with Affinity. Here is another issue has been around for a long time and is not fixed either.

Ever since I upgraded to MacOS Big Sur, Affinity Photo has been very slow to start. In fact, Affinity Photo is about three times slower to startup than other apps. Unfortunately, it looks like the very nice 1.10 version does not solve this issue. Any idea when this issue will be fixed? 2019 i9 iMac, 64gb ram, Radeon Pro Vega 48 8 GB, MacOS 11.5.1

I know several people who only use Affinity Photos as an extension of Apple Photos. I am one of them. Here is why: In order to get the perfect photo I use several tools. In painting and cloning from Affinity Photo, (Machine Learning) Noise Removal from Pixelmator Pro, several adjustments from Luminar 4. Apple Photos extensions make jumping between apps and files quick and easy. Much better than anything I have found on Windows.

Please have the team look at fixing the Affinity Extensions for Apple Photos. I along with others have been reporting issues for almost a year now. Unfortunately, still no fixes. For example, 30% of the time the Retouch extension won't even load. Same for Haze Removal. All sorts of pointer bugs too. Been known for some time. Never fixed! Thank you.

I have been reporting several issues with the Affinity Extensions since late last year. About 15% of the time the Develop Extension just refuses to load, one or two times I have had it crash. Everyone of the Affinity Extensions could really need a little tender loving attention. I along with several others have been reporting issues now for over year. As of yet they remain unaddressed. Unfortunately, the problems are not installation or machine related. I have wiped my systems (Late 2017 iMac, Late 2017 MacBook Pro) more than once trying to solve some of these issues. I have been a customer since the Serif days. I own every Affinity product on the Mac side and Affinity Photo on Windows. Good products and from my experience a good company. However, the Affinity Extensions really need some work.

Please have the team look at fixing the Affinity Extensions for Apple Photos. I along with others have been reporting issues for almost a year now. Unfortunately, still no fixes. Thank you.

I have noticed this issue as well. After removing all the Affinity extensions and then reinstalling them they work - sometimes. The Affinity Extensions really need a little TLC (tender loving care). I have also reported other issues with the Affinity Extensions here:

Meb, Thank you for your quick response and bringing this issue to the developers attention. I really like the Affinity Photo Extensions. They are a great way to quickly and easily introduce clients to the fun of powerful photo editing. Request: Would it be too much to ask for a clone tool inside of the Affinity Retouch extension?

Thank you for the extension fixes! I think Affinity is overlooking the power of extensions to boost sales of Affinity Photo. Extensions bring the power of Affinity Photo to casual users like my Dad. My Dad is not into extensive photo editing. When I showed him Affinity Photo he was overwhelmed. However, when I showed him the Photos extension he promptly purchased Affinity Photo. In fact, he is using using extensions more & more. There are many more customers like my Dad out there. The extensions are missing one crucial feature: a CLONE TOOL. A clone tool could be easily incorporated into the "Retouch" Extension.

Please add a clone tool to your Mac "Retouch" extension for Apple Photos. Extensions bring the power of Affinity Photo to casual users like my Dad. My Dad is not into extensive photo editing.
