This is an issue with Photo I feel. With RAW images in Apple Photos, to edit them I have to Export the image to disk, then Open it with Photo so that it sees that it's a RAW file. Any other method of bringing it into Photo from Apple Photos doesn't bring it in as a RAW. In addition, the Camera Data is only brought in in some instances and not others. In the RAW format it brings it in fine. I'm thinking that I should be able to open it as RAW (Develop Persona) directly from Photos, rather than go the roundabout way of Exporting it from Photos, then opening it in Affinity Photo. Hope this makes sense. Let me see if I can caption these images. The RAW file Opened correctly from the disk and is ready for development. The RAW file exported from Photos to disk. The RAW file sitting in Apple Photos. It doesn't have an accompanying jpg. It's pure RAW, The image dragged into Affinity Photo. No RAW and no camera data. Same if Edit with Affinity Photo is selected from right click. It just doesn't see the RAW, and sucks it in as I presume a jpg. Third attempt, this time I get camera data. Just editing the image again directly from Apple Photos.

Hi, I'm afraid that I don't follow you. Your video demonstrates exactly what I mean. When I enable the Red query for example, the two artboards are enabled, but not their child layers. The artboards are tagged Red, as are the child layers. There are in fact 4 Red tag layers. But only the two artboards are enabled and shown, but the child layers are left unselected even though they too are red tags by default. Nothing I do will show them except physically, manually, enabling them. In fact, if I enable the child layers, then the subsequent search turns them off again. .

When setting up a simple layer state test, I think there is something amiss when the returned layers to a query don't all become visible, when they should. In the example attached, the Green Tag is selected and all the relevant layers are showing green, but only the Master layer of the two artboards becomes visible. I think I have the query right. In this case, the Green tags reference the two SP layers, SP1 and SP2. I'll show the second screenshot where I have manually turned on the child layers. I was expecting that all of the layers tagged green would be turned on as a result of the query. Screenshot 1 Screenshot 2

I don't know how you are seeing that. I do not have any success starting it up. As you see above in my original post. Starts of with Cant find the GPU, then the memory error, then the half working interface. Dehancer are acknowledging that there is a problem, so we will see where it ends up. Thanks Robert

Well that’s my point actually. I’m not concerned about whose ‘issue’ it is, because what I’m asking is if Affinity has or can implement a method of seperating the raw from the jog. Just like Lightroom and a lot of the other apps on the market. If the mechanics of it are known then the solution should be relatively simple. The image shows as this, in the circle. I have a lot of these images. Anyway, obviously this is not something anybody is worried about.

I must say this is interesting. I'm discovering what ICC works best on my HP monitor. Discovering "What It All Means"... Turns out that if I want to use OCIO to any effect, I need to set one of these listed in the config file for: JR Blender 4.0 OCIO adapted for Affinity Photo 2, -> config.ocio ... active_displays: [sRGB, Display P3, Rec.1886, Rec.2020] For my Display Profile. This is what I have. Now I am using the HP as the main display, and the S22C350 (Samsung) as the secondary. But they aren't listed in the OCIO config. Interestingly, the Display P3 is the default Apple profile. And both displays work fine with that in place. And also sRGB. So for now I'm using Display P3 on both. I'm hoping to buy a 5K LG monitor next year. Lots of bucks though. Then I can get some pretty pictures! So anyway. At least now I know I can use Display P3 or sRGB as the base monitor profile, and use either of those in the OCIO. Interestingly, the iPad version works the same. I'm using the same config.ocio on both the Mac and the iPad. Works in both places. The iPad Mini is Liquid Retina display. 8.3-inch (diagonal) LED-backlit Multi-Touch display with IPS technology. 2266-by-1488 resolution at 326 pixels per inch (ppi) Wide color display (P3) True Tone display. The Mac display profiles. Set to P3. Continuing right along. Some interesting links. A really interesting color-gamut guide is here: https://www.androidauthority.com/color-gamuts-guide-3035782/ Manual Editing of ocio config files: https://community.acescentral.com/t/manual-editing-of-config-ocio/3524/29 Filmlight things to throw light... on things: https://www.filmlight.ltd.uk/support/customer-login/colourspaces/colourspaces.php A config generator discussion on GitHub: https://github.com/AcademySoftwareFoundation/OpenColorIO-Config-ACES/pull/11 The Word from OCIO...: https://opencolorio.readthedocs.io/en/latest/guides/authoring/rules.html Now to see If I can put all or any of this to use. Here's a short video of stepping through the options using the config mentioned at the start. 2023-11-25 11-34-12.mp4
