How to terminate or exit a process in iPad Designer

Recommended Posts

Is it possible to terminate an ongoing and time consuming procedure if I don't want it to continue.  For instance, some boolean procedures, such as add or combine, take a very long time to complete - 5, 10, or 15 or more minutes.  How can I terminate this procedure before completion so that I can do something else in Designer for iPad?  As it is, the slow procedure just blocks me using Designer for quite a while.  In actuality, the geometric drawing I am currently working on is not all that complex.  It is mystery to me why these procedures take so long.  There are no hard drive memory constraints on the iPad Pro - there is plenty of hard drive space.  The Boolean Add procedure that I am currently struggling with has been going on for 15 minutes now and designer is still working on it.  A bit frustrated, here.  Just want to end the procedure and move on to other tasks! -=Rick

Hi Rick :)

Sorry to hear this, unfortunately there's no way to force stop an action within the app, but you can force close the app at any time - however some work may be lost from autosave when doing so.

Could you please provide a copy of your .afdesign file here so we can investigate this for you? Which model iPad are you using please?

Please note -

I am currently out of the office for a short while whilst recovering from surgery (nothing serious!), therefore will not be available on the Forums during this time.

Should you require a response from the team in a thread I have previously replied in - please Create a New Thread and our team will be sure to reply as soon as possible.

Many thanks!
