I'm sure I'm missing something but how does one set a default export path? I'm assuming it has something to do with "builder" and "path" variables but I played around and didn't figure it out. Sorry if this is already a topic somewhere but I did search and didn't find it.

Oh, to be more specific, what I'd like to be able to do is just have a preset which names all files using the formula

Quote

[slice name]-[width]

and then for every size I add it ensures that the file naming is unique.

See the discussion in this Export Persona help thread about possible path settings.

That thread seems to be addressing a different topic I think. I can see that if you click on "path" while at the "slices" dialog box:

But this only offers the Slice Name as a variable AND even when I added the "-[Width]" text and add another export this setting is completely ignored. What I'm wanting to do is overwrite this default:

Edit the path, select and remove/delete [Scale suffix], instead drag [Width] there. Write a path (Win or Unix style dependent on your OS) in front, put the brackets etc. around the width var.

The default top path box is limited in capabilities as you have seen, use and try the slices path setting instead!

Yes that's what i've done but I have to do it for every resolution and for every image? Surely this dialog boxes options are configurable to set a default?

Hmm, AFAI remember NO!

But when I retried now I've discovered that you can select a predefined variable (Scale, Width, Heigh ...) from the slices path setting panel and copy/paste that over via (copy: Cmd-C/Ctrl-C, paste: Cmd-V/Ctrl-V)  to the top default path setting panel. Though I didn't tested if that top default path panel takes these than into account too. You have to try/test on your own if that may do it and work!
