Opening 16 bit black and white TIFFs in Affinity Photo

I drop in just to tell that I have the same exact problem on Mac osx. I've scanned a 16bit grayscale 35mm film with Silverfast and Affinity treats it as a RAW file, no problem opening it with Preview. So the problem is not Vuescan, it is the same with Silverfast
