I regularly create non-destructive compound path. I then want to use these as masks and clip other layers to them. When I drag a layer onto a compound path, the path gets included into the calculation, rather than being clipped. How can I change this behavior and use the Compound Path as a clipping mask?

Affinity apps currently do not support clipping by a Compound object, as you've discovered, but a Compound object can be used as a vector mask by dragging the Compound's thumbnail onto the target object's thumbnail and releasing it when a blue vertical bar appears to the right of the target thumbnail. Unfortunately, another current limitation of Affinity apps is that they do not provide access to the members of a Compound while it is masking some object.

The same is true of Group, Symbol and Layer objects.
