Chazypax Posted December 2, 2016 Posted December 2, 2016 I've made a banner which consists of a PNG image I imported and also I've included some artwork on there such as speech bubbles etc. When I go to export as a PNG the quality is poor. There are glitches in the colouring at the bottom left of the speech bubble as you can see, by that I mean the white freckles which have randomly appeared, it doesn't show this when editing it all. Do I need to select a setting or something in order for this to work correctly? Please see image below. I'm looking at the image in 100% zoom on my Mac so I can't understand the problem. I wouldn't get this issue with Photoshop. Quote

Chazypax Posted December 2, 2016 Author Posted December 2, 2016 Hi Tony, Here is the Affinity file. I am using the trial edition of Affinity Photo. Test tour cover.afphoto Quote
Staff TonyB Posted December 2, 2016 Staff Posted December 2, 2016 Your document is set to 72dpi so the quality will be limited by that. What DPI do you want you final image to be? The white pixels are because of the layer effects applied and look correct to me for a low resolution image. The Outline Effect should be at least 1px for an outer effect. You could also get better results for Outline if you apply a vector stroke to your text instead. You should get the same result in Photoshop if you setup the same document with the exception that Outline minimum is 1px. Quote
Chazypax Posted December 2, 2016 Author Posted December 2, 2016 I'm not a technical person so as long as it's a good quality I'm not too bothered. I've altered the outline effect to 1px and that's got rid of the white dots around it. I've tried altering the dpi as well but it's not making a difference to the quality of the export. Quote
