Holger Krupp Posted March 13 Posted March 13 (edited) I'm writing a book that is built up out of 8 chapters. I created 101 Index entries. I would like to find any mentions of these topics/words in my book and add it to the index. Unfortunately the indexing function "Find in document..." only works on the open file/chapter. I would have to do use the function 808 times with 4 clicks each to add all references to the index table. This would lead to 32032 clicks to be done. Is there any way to automate this process? What would be your best approach to fill the index table? Edited March 13 by Holger Krupp Quote
MikeTO Posted March 13 Posted March 13 Hi @Holger Krupp and welcome to the forums. Unfortunately, this is a limitation of the Find in Document feature, it works only on the open document and not across an entire Book. I don't know of any way to streamline the process other than to merge the chapters into a single document.
