Hi everyone,

I'm currently experiencing a few issues with Affinity Photo v2.5.7 on Windows 11 Pro (24H2) that I can't quite figure out:

  1. Export Dialog Not Appearing & UI Becomes Unresponsive
Sometimes, when I go to File > Export, the export dialog doesn't appear (I'm using a single screen on a notebook). After that, the entire Affinity UI becomes unresponsive, as if there's an invisible window blocking interactions. The only way to fix it is by force-closing Affinity Photo via the Task Manager. However, after restarting the app, the problem persists.

  2. Drag & Drop Not Working for Images
When I try to drag a PNG file into Affinity Photo, nothing happens. The Place cursor appears, but no new layer is created. The same issue occurs when using File > Place—nothing happens at all (this dialog don't find any images). Edit: After further testing, it doesn't seem to work for OneDrive files in particular. Affinity might have to trigger something here to download them first. They appear in Explorer. If I first copy the image to the desktop and then drag it in, it works.

Unfortunately, problems persist even if I download the app from the Microsoft Store and remove the MSIX installation.

Even when I open Affinity Photo, the icon at the bottom of the taskbar is missing. Everything doesn't seem quite reliable. When I start the application, the icon is still there.

Does anyone have any ideas on what might be causing these issues? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Hi. With regard to the first issue, do you ever use Affinity with an external screen? It sounds like the dialog may be opening up off screen. You could try pressing Esc to see if that closes the dialog and gives you control back. If it does, you'll need to reset your windows to get this working. Start Affinity while holding down Ctrl and select Reset Document and Window States. Hopefully that will solve the issue. Good luck.
