Hello,

Can someone also explain the following to me:

I have read a book whose formatting I want to copy.
My question is about the margin at the bottom of the book, where the page number is.

The distance from the text of the book is 30 mm. Below that, at 17 mm from the book, is the page number.

What value of margin should I take now? Does the page number belong to the bottom of the book's margin or not?

So the number of millimeters between the text of the book and the page number is 13 mm.

Good typography is rare these days. That is why I am asking an important question about this.

Thank you very much for your reply.

If the bottom of the body text is 30mm from the bottom of the page then that’s probably what you should set the margin to.

The margin is only there as a visual guide for you (and for snapping) and is not included in the exported file.

The page numbers would not usually be part of the body text and would probably be added as a layer on the master page(s).
