Hi, I'm using Affinity Publisher 2.5.7 on an older iMac running Monterey 12.7.6. I just noticed that the Publisher files I was working on recently (particularly those that were created solely in Publisher, as opposed to imported from InDesign) seem to have lost either their Master Pages in their entirety or the margin and text settings that I had created for them. Has anyone else encountered this problem and/or is aware of a way of recovering them? Thanks!

Hi, I've never seen an issue with a lost master page.

First the obvious - is the master page section of the Pages panel expanded? When it's collapsed the master pages will be hidden. Click the > to the left of the word Master Pages to expand it.

Second, is it possible you accidentally opened the PDF version of your afpub file? Every so often somebody will report a strange problem such as all their text styles are gone and it turns out that they did this by mistake. This would account for the loss of the master pages and margin guides.

If you're able to share a test file here in the forum, I or somebody else will take a look for you.

Good luck

Ah, that must be it, I just noticed that all of the tables in the document are now text boxes so I can only assume I must have accidentally opened a pdf of the document by mistake and then somehow saved it as an afpub file (it's definitely an afpub file now, whatever it was before). Thanks for the help.
