I'm happy to index a word by adding the marker etc. But how do I index say three words  ie 'Office conference 2009'

Select the three words and then choose Insert Index Mark - Publisher will pre-fill in the text field with the selected text and add the index mark before the selected text.

Thanks John

You can manually add markers and link to another location in the document by manually creating an index.

You can do that after creating an index entry - right-click the index topic in the panel and choose Find in Document from the context menu. Click a result to see it in context and then select the checkbox to its right to add an index mark for it. Click Done to clear the results.

Cheers
