swev Posted October 31, 2024 Posted October 31, 2024 Hi there! I'm working on an anthology with multiple "chapters" (as in submissions from multiple creators) and I can't figure out how to get rid of the afpub filename when exporting. I can adjust the anchors panel but those bookmarks only show up under the file name, in the screenshot Fantasy_04. Since the file contains more than one work, I can't just rename the afpub to be the title and credit - I'd like to remove the afpub name entirely. Any tips would be welcomed! Quote
swev Posted October 31, 2024 Author Posted October 31, 2024 I'm also having a heaping of issues getting the bookmarks to show up in the correct order, I've searched and searched and can't really find a solution that works Quote
MikeTO Posted October 31, 2024 Posted October 31, 2024 The order of bookmarks depends on the order of objects in the Layers panel. Publisher starts from the bottom and works its way to the top of the stack. It looks like you're using an old version of Acrobat - the newer versions don't show the filename at the top. I don't have an old version to test with but perhaps somebody else will be able to help. My issue with the layer stack is that all of my items are on different pages, so I don't understand how I can place the objects in a way that Publisher will understand. Ex the "Art by Licorne" bit is on the last page of the file. The screenshot is from FoxitReader, not Acrobat, and it shows up like that in multiple pdf viewers Quote
MikeTO Posted October 31, 2024 Posted October 31, 2024 I'd have to see the file to be able to figure that out because I can't duplicate the issue. MiekeM Posted June 11 Posted June 11 A bit late to this topic, but I am struggling with the same problem and this is what I found out. It turns out then when exporting a book, the title field in window > references > fields gets exported as a bookmark in the pdf. Leaving the title field empty will replace the bookmark with the filename, but not remove the bookmark itself. Bookmarks created in the document get added as sub-bookmarks. This is not a solution to the problem, but it does at least give you control over what the name of your bookmark is. It would be nice if you could remove this title-bookmark somewhere. I for example don't need a bookmark for the first few pages of my book that just make up the cover and the title page. Quote
