How to Create a Flower String Art Figure in Affinity Designer

Here’s an alternative way to make the ‘curved’ parts:

(For N number of lines.)

Draw a horizontal line of any length;
With the line selected by the Move Tool, press Enter;
In the “Move / Duplicate” dialog, set the Rotation to minus 90 divided by (N+1), check the Duplicate checkbox, set the Number of Copies to N+1, and press OK;
Select all of the lines;
With the Alignment pop-up on the Toolbar select Align Right and Align Top and press Apply.

You can now use the lines as shown in the video in the original post.

The spacing between the lines isn’t the same as the original, it’s just another way to do it.
