jedorme Posted October 10, 2024 Posted October 10, 2024 I have a purchased V1 of Publisher on my Mac computer and just downloaded a 180 day trial of V2 as well. I have multiple Word documents with extensive footnotes created using the Word software to insert them into the text of these documents, appearing at the bottom of each pages of text. I know that V2 now has its own footnote feature for creating them, but can I use File>Place to load these documents in text boxes as created by Word with footnotes intact? Should I use V1 or V2 as I would like to start using the trial version of Publisher for its other new features? Thank you for any help with this. Quote
MikeTO Posted October 11, 2024 Posted October 11, 2024 Hi, you'll need to use v2 for this because v1 doesn't support footnotes and you'll lose them. They wouldn't be in the right place even if they imported into v1. Footnotes from MS Word import pretty well into 2.5.5 so go ahead and give it a try. jedorme Posted October 11, 2024 Author Posted October 11, 2024 Many thanks for this advice as to footnotes in a Word document and this is what I had hope would be the answer. In a perfect world, Publisher 2 would simply use the fonts and type sets coming from Word, along with the alignment on the pages. I have also placed photos in the Word docs and that have been a pain with not fitting onto the pages without pushing text around, and shifting the notes. My trial version of AP2 is 2.5.5 so hopefully it may work. Quote
