Dotch per inch in Affinity Photo / Affinity Publisher

Recommended Posts

Do I need to set each photo to 300 DPI in Affinity Photo (to be used for printing) or is it enough to export the same photo (72 DPI) in Affinity Publisher to pdf with 300 DPI? See also the printscreen.

Thanks for your help.

That field specifies that if an image has a higher DPI than the entered value, it will be downsampled to the value you entered.

For example, if you export a 400 dpi image it will be downsampled to 300 dpi but if you export a 72 dpi image no changes will be made.
