ArchivistOnMountain
When I have a long set of pages, each with a text box filled with text, each flowing to the next text box on the next page: when I apply a master page, the text box arrangement from the Master Page is added below the text box on the targeted page. I believe that it should instead replace the text box on the targeted page, and the flow of text should go through the next text box arrangement. It is possible to manually make the change, but that's quite a chore for many pages, and this change would make the text boxes follow the same procedure that graphic boxes go through. Thanks for the great software!
MikeTO
Hi @ArchivistOnMountain and welcome to the forums. Applying a master page to a document page will not move the text from that page's existing text frame to the one from the master. That would be convenient but it wouldn't work in all cases. However, this is a common issue with Publisher because it doesn't have automatic text frames on masters so users keep creating documents with the frames on the document page rather than on the master. I recently wrote some steps on how to convert a document from text frames on document pages to text frames on masters so please see this other thread. I will add this tip to my free Publisher manual for the next update.
