I created this screen image as a tribute to my favourite YouTube channel, Retro Recipes.

The font used was C64 Pro and consists of two Rs one reversed and joined together Janus-like.

I used Draw Plus X8 to provide a filter effect I cannot reproduce in Affinity Designer as it uses a reflection map which is not replicated in Affinity. Then I exported the SVG to a file for loading into Affinity Designer.

The background was edited from a wallpaper of the Jon Pertwee era of Doctor Who's time vortex. This I loaded into Affinity photo and applied the Rodilus filter. Then I used the Zoom blur before saving the image as a file.

Then I popped into Affinity Designer and chose the QHD document size. I imported the background followed by the SVG of the RR logo. I added the outer glow, and subtle drop shadow and saved the combined image to disk. Loading the combined image into Photo I applied a dream glow filter to boost the glowing effect, This brightened the image and I adjusted its black point to darken the blacks.

The result you see below as a smaller image. RR SVG is included for you to play with.

Please Affinity Team can we have reflection maps included in the Affinity range?

Well, After a lot more tweaking using Drawplus, and a lot of editing in Affinity Photo using HDR Merge, Nik Filters, Media Chance Photo Reactor Player, and the develop persona I have created quite a few wallpapers for Windows. Here is a video I put together to display them in a slideshow. All together there are 20 wallpapers.

Music is supplied by a MOD file (tracker module). It is a remix based on The Final Countdown by Europe.

Video put together in Windows Movie Maker (classic edition).

I hope you find them interesting.

Some final wallpapers were created in Affinity Photo based on a 4K design. Drawplus provided the reflection maps.

The reset was Affinity, GMIC, Mediachance Reactor, and Nik Filters 4.

Slideshow put together in Powerpoint and audio track added in Moviemaker Classic.

Sadly, I couldn't embed the video directly in the forum. I kept getting error 200.
