Furry Posted June 5, 2024 Posted June 5, 2024 Somehow I have clicked with the text frame tool in a rectangle and now it thinks it is a text frame (while actually designed by me for a different purpose). How can I disillusion it? Quote Main machine is 2024 24" iMac running Sequoia 15.2 with 8GB of RAM. Also have 2022 12" Macbook Air also running Sequoia 15.2, also with 8GB of RAM. MikeTO Posted June 5, 2024 Posted June 5, 2024 This is very easy (too easy) to do. If you click a selected shape with a text tool the shape will be converted to a text frame. You can choose Undo, but if it's been too long you're stuck with it. You don't have to change it back, you can still set all of its shape properties as long as you have Publisher. Designer and Photo can't set line and fill for frames. You can use Convert to Curves which will convert it to a closed path and eliminate the text frame feature, but then it will be a path (curves) instead of a shape. Or just draw a new rectangle and copy the formatting. Furry Posted June 5, 2024 Author Posted June 5, 2024 Thanks MikeTO. I knew there was a quick solution (Convert to curves) but did not know what it might be. The offending rectangle, unfortunately, is in an .aftemplate file so I will have to go back and replace that. It was just annoying me that every time I used the template, I was stuck with a rectangle that showed the § symbol. When I replace the template I will make sure it is just a rectangle, as initially intended. Quote Main machine is 2024 24" iMac running Sequoia 15.2 with 8GB of RAM.
