🚨🚨🚨 Publisher 2.5.0 spinning wheel / freezes

Hi. After updating / then clean installing / deleting all the pref-files, Publisher 2.5 keeps freezing after opening a file from 2.4. Furthermore, when creating and saving a new file, the same happens as well: first the mac-speeding-wheel and then the frozen application. Strangely, before the update, the beta 2.5 worked fine. I am lost now, as I cannot work at all today until this is fixed.

If the beta is working fine for you, you could use it until the issue is figured out. RC2 and the release version are presumably the same version since RC2 was issued just the day before.

"worked". Now the beta is behaving the same way as the 2.5. TBH I didn't use the beta for almost 2 weeks, so I don't know if the last version of the beta was already causing the same behaviour. I also reinstalled the beta: publisher is crashing

If the beta isn't working for you, then this might be specific to certain documents or features. The general crashing issues that are being reported this morning with 2.5 seem to be a problem with the App Store versions.

Would you be able to share a document for testing?

Are you able to open other documents? Can you create and save basic documents?

I have the same issue on Windows 11. Is there a way to downgrade to 2.4?

For me too, Publisher freezes the wheel starts spinning when i try to edit a 2.4 document. If I create a new document in 2.5 it seems to work OK.

I downloaded the new version from the Serif web site, not from AppStore.

I have the same issue in Publisher after updating to 2.5.0
No editing can take place.
Need to get 2.4 urgently (work in no progress!)

I can create, save the documents. So new files = no problem.

But then, when opening an old file, when f.e. I want to delete, move, duplicate pages or export the doc as PDF, the app freezes / the wheel appears.

Unfortunately, I cannot share my client's files due to legal reasons. 
Do you have by chance the latest 2.4.x version somewhere?

Editing is also frozen in a new file from a template, but possible for a new standard file

Downloaded 2.4.2 > Everything works perfectly again. So it is not my Mac, it is something with the software version 2.5.

I too had the same issue, Only way to get Publisher to work was to downgrade to 2.4.2. I also downloaded straight from Serif.

The issue "2.5 Publisher users experiencing freezing, crashing, or text not displaying" (REF: AF-3191) has been fixed by the developers in internal build "2.5.2.2478".
This fix should soon be available as a customer beta and is planned for inclusion in the next customer release.
Customer beta builds are announced here and you can participate by following these instructions.
