Rick H
I've got a bunch of Fireworks PNG files, and the Fireworks CS6 version (licensed). I understand that AP can only use the 'flattened' PNG file if you open the PNG file directly. So, wondering if there is an export file type that I can use in Fireworks to export a layered Fireworks PNG file into another format, and open that format in AP and retain the image layers. The alternative (which will be a lot of work) is to use Fireworks and save individual layers as individual files, then add those layers to an AP file. Or just start all over. Thanks....Rick... Bryan Rieger
If I remember correctly, I think it's possible to export a layered PSD from Fireworks which you could then use in the Affinity apps. I can't remember the exact settings, but there was something about 'maintaining edibility' that was quite helpful when exporting a PSD from Fireworks. Rick H
Thanks for that answer. It inspired me to dig around a bit and I think this process works: 1) Open the PNG file in Fireworks. 2) File, Export 3) Change file extension to PSD 4) Click the Options button. 5) Set these values 6) Click OK, then Save the file. 7) Open that PSD file in AP. 8 ) There will be a Layer called "Background". Click the down arrow and see the layers in that area. This seems to work - all the PNG layers are now PSD layers because you set the Photoshop Export Options. Huzzah !!
