Alanjm Posted October 18, 2023 Posted October 18, 2023 I today tried to work on a short story in Affinity Publisher 2.2. It was a nightmare. I hate to say it but, If I hadn't had InDesign, I would not have been able to finish. I couldn't really send anything because what happened repeatedly (for several hours) was a non-event: without my knowing why, when I would try to edit (retype or delete) from one page and go to another page in my file, the same file, the app would simply not respond. Nothing happened, no matter what I did. I coaxed it once by closing Affinity. I turned off all other apps. I am running a 2015 iMac with 8 gigs of memory and an AMD Radeon R9. I am running Mac OS Monterey vs. 12.6.8. Quote
MikeTO Posted October 19, 2023 Posted October 19, 2023 Hi @Alanjm and welcome to the forums. Your computer does have the minimum memory supported so ensure you don't try to run too much else at the same time. I use it with 16GB and it runs very smoothly. Also, if you have any issues turn off hardware acceleration. Go to Affinity Publisher 2 > Settings and click Performance in the left pane. - De-select hardware acceleration > enable metal - Change Display from Metal to OpenGL If it's still not working could you please hare a screenshot here of that performance settings screen? Good luck.
