Affinity Publisher 2.1.1 windows; some jpeg images exported from Affinity Designer or Photo not printing

Recommended Posts

Document is a US Letter size book, approx 350 pages with photos, maps and charts inserted as jpeg files, these are linked. The document and all the images are stored on OneDrive. The photos were converted to greyscale as a batch job in Affinity Photo. Maps created in AD, charts created in Powerpoint and saved as pdfs.

Some of the images that used to print do not print now. The captions and text and the pages prints but there is a white space where the image should be.

Preflight does not show any errors, just a couple of missing fonts.

Some things I've done that make the images print  . . .

Deleted images then reinserted them.

Replaced images by the same image file.

There are >200 photos, maps and charts, updating each one is a BIG waste of time.

Any suggestions welcome.

This is a very possible cause of troubles…

If it is possible, you should try to put your document and the linked files on a local internal support when you are about to work with.

Linked files on a remote drive was our problem; when we either replaced or updated the images that didn't print they then printed. For information the book and all the images are stored on OneDrive for the convenience of being able to work from different locations.

It could be the relinking of the RGB files that solved the problem or the change to RGB.

The book is currently being proofread, it will be interesting to see what happens to the images as the updates are done.
