In photoshop you can apply as many drop shadows to the  text as you like but I can't see an option in affinity photo ver1 to add a second shadow effect to the same layer.  I would like to add 2 outer shadows to the same text layer without duplicating the layer. Is it possible? Thank you .

Multiple effects for a single layer only came in with the V2 applications.

However, in V1, you can simulate it by grouping the layer and then adding the extra effect to the group.

See attached image where I have effectively given the yellow star two Outer Shadow Effects in this way; the orange shadow is on the star shape and the blue shadow is on the group.
