I'm a bit new to graphic design, trying to create a logo by putting a single white letter within a black box, however I would like the letter to actually be transparent. I've read a bit on the forums about using Blend options to make white transparent, however when I do that it just disappears and all you see is the black box. How can I alpha the white text to essentially create negative space within the black box? Any help is much appreciated!

Welcome to the forum!

Do you have or mean on top of a transparent doc background?

However one quick and easy way beside of some other ways is, to duplicate the white letter on the initial same position, then next geom subtract one of the letters from the black box, so it leaves a shine through gap on place. Then afterwards just apply the wanted degree of layer transparency to the other remaining on position letter.
