I've been doing a little sketching in Photo v2 (it also happens in Designer v2) and when drawing (after selecting a brush from the jumping brush list) I usually tap the little full-screen icon in the corner and draw undistracted. I'm using an Apple Pencil, and I've got 'Touch for Gestures Only' enabled in the preferences. I figured all was set for 30 minutes of uninterrupted drawing.

Turns out every time my palm touches the screen (which happens when drawing) the entire UI flys back in. I tried double-tapping the full-screen icon (that if I recall correctly solved this problem in v1) but that just made the UI disappear and instantly re-appear.

What am I doing wrong? Is there some other preference I need to set?

Edit: turns out that in the Preferences > User Interface tab there is a very poorly named 'Automatically hide UI' setting that when disabled will no longer 'Automatically show UI'. This is painful.

Aha, there's a poorly named preference for this!
