AspiringPerson
What I’m referring to starts at 3:06 as a logo designer I find this essential. Does affinity designer have this option with the pencil tool ?
loukash
With the Pencil tool you can use the Sculpt option to reshape an active curve. That was already a v1 feature. Designer 2 still doesn't have true vector brushes or erasers (yet; hopfully they will finally appear in a future update, but… duh, even my formerly beloved Freehand 9 had one over 20 years ago so it's about time!) but you can now use the new Knife tool to cut shapes apart. What Designer 2 also still lacks is a good smooth tool. The Smooth button of the Node tool helps a bit, but the results are a bit random hit or miss. Usually I end up smothing shapes manually. Thanks for your response it’s been helpful. the sculpt feature definitely works but is definitely not smooth like you suggested so I’ll have to manually adjust the nodes Afterwords. I have to admit this is quite the dealbreaker with affinity but maybe it’ll be available in the future, I might have to use illustrator for some projects.
