An Observer Posted November 11, 2022 Posted November 11, 2022 Photo seems to have had a long-running conflict with pics exported from Apple's Photos. Years ago, someone was having an issue with permissions and opening files exported from external HD-hosted Photo libraries. This is not that problem. My Apple Photos library is hosted on the computer's boot HD, in my user folder. PROBLEM: An image is exported from Apple's Photos to a folder within my user folder. The image is then dragged to Affinity Photo, but will not not open, instead throwing an error of, "This file could not be opened because permission was denied." Exporting to the Desktop does not resolve the problem. The bug includes images exported from Photos as an unmodified original or a JPG (or a TIFF). Running Apple's Disk First Aid DOES NOT solve the problem. Adobe Photoshop has no problem opening these problematic files. . . Quote
