Glyphs
Hi, I'm using Affinity Publisher to letter and translate comics I'm writing and publishing, and you'll see that if you want to do it well in Publisher, it can become tedious. So first, I'm writing the script in a separate text file which I send to the penciller. When I have at least the black and white pages, I import these pages into Publisher, and copy and paste each dialogs from the script directly into ballons. Then, I update and tidy up the text into each balloon, and correct it using the integrated spellchecker. And ideally, it should end here. But if you want to do it really really well (and believe me, you do), you'll soon become aware that the integrated spellchecker isn't enough. You have to use a professional spellchecker. I'm using Antidote, which is compatible with many apps save Publisher for reasons I can't fathom. So at this time, the only way to use Antidote, is to copy and paste all this text I edited into a new text file, open the text file in an Antidote compatible App, then correct the text with Antidote and update everything directly into the Publisher file, using the corrected text file as a guide. And I'm not talking about copying and pasting a single text file from a book, I'm really copying and pasting each text in each balloon one after the other. Everything could be simpler with an Antidote integration of course, but it could be even simpler if you could add a text editing module with tags to Publisher like in Adobe PageMaker, or even create an Affinity Script Writing App, which would even be a logical step since Script Writing is part of a production process. With such a Text Editing module, all I would have to do to correct each balloon would be to copy and paste the whole tagged text into an Antidote compatible App, and then just paste the corrected text back in the Text Editing Module to have it updated in each balloon.
