Anysha
Hello, I run Affinity 1:10:4 on a Mac 10:13:6. I want to calibrate my monitor and printer with Datacolor Spyder tools (Compatible with Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop). Is this supported in Affinity (especially the soft-proof function, which compares and shows you a accurate preview of what the print will look like next to how it looks on the monitor.) Thanks
v_kyr
Those create ICC-profiles which you reuse on your MacOS system wide. Meaning here, if you create a monitor profile with the Datacolor Spyder X, the cretaed ICC profile will be installed onto your MacOS system and reused from there in Affinity. - Similar that SpyderPrinter software will create printer based ICC-profiles, which you can assign/reuse inside Affinity then. So you would use the "Datacolor Spyder X elite" and "SpyderPrinter software" on it's own, meaning in turn here, that there is no integration of the Spyder software directly into Affinity as plugins or the like. Instead you reuse the ICC profiles created by those tools in the Affinity software then! antodero
It makes no sense to calibrate the monitor and use the created ICC profile by affinity software. It does not replace the need for a proper calibration via a color checker which changes with each lightning condition. Calibrating your monitors will only ensure you to visualize your colors on your digital screen as close as possible to reality. That's it. We need in Affinity Photo the possibility to create ICC with a color checker.
