LionelD Posted November 27, 2021 Posted November 27, 2021 Hi, I’m having trouble with stroke appearance. This example is on my iPad (Pro, 11 inch, 2019) running latest version of Affinity Designer with latest version of iPad OS (15.1). So, I’m now trying to isolate the problem, cognizant of the one at the keyboard. I expect this will end up being the first of a series of questions on this topic because this example does not nearly capture all of my mysteries to do with bulk changes to multiple curves with the same appearance. In the attached file, I created the leftmost curve, named it “Frond”, added two strokes via Appearance studio, then used power duplicate to add the remaining curves. I cleared all selections, selected the Frond at the top of the layer stack( now rightmost on display), went to the Appearance Studio and highlighted the purple stroke (white dot next to it), then selected all Fronds using the “Select Same”, Name function of the Move Tool. Switched to the Node tool just to confirm all the layers were selected correctly, then went to Stroke Studio, intending to edit all the purple strokes at the same time. In Stroke Studio, I changed width of purple stroke from 32px to 16px. Here’s the problem: that edit was NOT applied to the stroke at the bottom of the layer stack, even though it had been, and still was, selected. This is consistently repeatable. I’m reluctant to run around shouting about defects in other people’s code, but this looks suspiciously incorrect to me. What’s up? (EDIT: I just found a little more information. On the top layer in the stack, this sequence of steps edited the Orange stroke, as you can see by making the purple stroke on that layer invisible in the Appearance Studio. That can’t be good….) Another mystery I noticed is this: if you select the top layer in the layer stack (rightmost Frond on display), go to Appearance Studio and select the orange stroke (second one, white dot indicates it’s selected and Colour Studio displays orange in rightmost margin), then go to “Select Same” function of Move Tool, Colour Studio immediately displays Purple. So, how do you get to do a bulk edit on the second, orange stroke? Regards Lionel Stroke Appearance 01.afdesign Quote
LionelD Posted November 27, 2021 Author Posted November 27, 2021 I just found this discussion: Looks like I’m late to the party. Lost of issues, more than a year old. Lionel Quote
