Additional Raw File Support Request

Recommended Posts

Hi,

This is in reference to Affinity's astrophotography stacking processing as described here:

https://affinity.help/photo/English.lproj/index.html?page=pages/Astrophotography/astro_about.html?title=About astrophotography stacking

Raspberry Pi's new HQ 12 Mp camera (using Sony IMX477 sensor) has ability to keep shutter open for over 3 minutes which opens door for astrophotography shooting without need for the more expensive DSLR commonly used today. I have such a configuration setup for testing. This link explains how the RAW is appended to a jpeg:

The only software I know of today is a modification to DCRAW which can open and convert the RAW part to TIFF format:

Problem is that the Affinity stacking process is needing original RAWs for Dark and Bias frames for noise reduction processing. With Affinity if I just open a photo taken by this camera  the jpeg is displayed but apparently cannot extract and utilize the RAW. So my suggestion here is to add support for utilizing this camera's RAW format.
