Zagata
After purchasing AP a few days ago (one of many Adobe refugees, it seems), the first thing I did was look for an action-recording function, and found it in the Library and Macro studio tabs. The next thing I wanted to do was record the creation of Luminosity Mask channels. To my dismay, I found the macro couldn't record renaming the Spare Channel(s), all of which had the exact same name. I was able to do the recording just fine, but with twelve or more Spare Channels, renaming all of them by hand for every image I want to use Luminosity Masks in is tedious and time inefficient. Macros will record renaming ("Set Description") for a layer, so that's cool. I searched this topic and found a few older posts from 2017 and 2019, so it's been talked about and requested for at least four years. I'd like this feature request to get more recent attention, since the last discussion was two years ago. That's why I'm creating this topic. Appreciate everything, and I'm getting up to speed with AP pretty quickly. It's a fantastic piece of software. Regards. Floh
Ed L
Action: Limitation encounted during the Macro creation in Desktop version of the Affinity Photo s/w I am in the same situation when I want to rename the created 18 luminosity masks (6 lights, 6 midtones & 6 Darks). As all of them are defualted with description/name of "Spare Channel" in "Spare Channel" section, it is essential to have the function to rename each of them with more meaningful name. See attached screenshot of the pop-up message after the description field was modified. Hopefully this may help the developer to pinpoint the issue.
